    Battery Issue

I will keep that in mind. I’ll see if I can come up with some way to keep the leads connected while I disconnect the battery. I’m fairly sure I can rule out the alternator, I’ve taken the car on few ~100 trips and have had no issues.

Got it. I clearly didn't read Zenmervolt's post correctly.

    Battery Issue

I do but I couldn't find where the grounding strap ended so I wasn't able to remove it without just removing the ground, or at least I wasn't seeing how to do it.

    Battery Issue

I just came back from having it tested at local friendly shop (no charge) and the load tester showed it as being good. And after driving around for a few bit (a few stops) the battery seems fine, this is all after being completely dead a few hours ago. I don't think its the original battery...

    Battery Issue

I’ll try to keep this short and concise as possible but this is kind of a weird one, at least to me. I recently picked up a 04 VW GTI. Overall the car has been great so far aside from 2 engine codes that came on after ~100 miles after bring it home, and the real issue; a recurring...

    SSD for Windows 2000?

We are actually upgrading the whole system, that’s my main role here but the old system still has coverage in a few areas. That and the old system still has value so the plan is to give a overhaul and sell it with all the old cameras. That is the point of the system but if the HD containing...

    SSD for Windows 2000?

A good hard drive will probably last several years but anything with moving parts is just that much more likely to fail and there isn't really any way to predict when, its just a game of odds. SSDs biggest advantage is the inherently more reliable nature of "sold state". Anyway, it sounds...

    SSD for Windows 2000?

Why not? Anything with moving parts is going to experience wear, a SSD as long as the firmware is solid (Intel & Samsung) and the drive isn’t getting excessive writes day in and day out it should last damn near forever. Your right a HD for the OS and programs would still be a better deal but...

    SSD for Windows 2000?

SSD would only be for the enhanced reliability factor (no moving parts). Its not really a need but I like having separate drives for OS, programs and another drive for data storage and given the high prices of HDs a SSD just seemed like a good idea.

    SSD for Windows 2000?

Alright so I'm working on a pretty old (early 2000s) analog video surveillance system that’s been running 24/7 on the original hardware aside from a motherboard recap since the day it was put into service, unsurprisingly the HD is starting to go after 8+ years of constant spinning (bad sectors...

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

Yeah, I think its just plain defective, probably the main image processor since its always there. I've already arranged for to have the TV picked up and sent back. And actually I think I’m going to go with something a bit smaller and probably cheaper. This thing was pretty tight where...

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

Yeah I kinda forgot about the pixel orbiting technology but I don’t think that’s it. The best way I can describe it is a real light version of the analog fuzz you got over a less than perfect analog over the air TV signal.

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

Didn't think so, TV will be going back. Just trying to save money. I've had nothing but good luck with the Amazon Warehouse thus far, though from now on I'll probably stick to "like new".

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

Well I went with the 42" ST30 from the Amazon Warehouse. The TV was listed in "good" condition meaning there would probably something cosmetically wrong with the bezel and/or stand and there was a pretty good scrap on the stand. No big deal, the rest of the panel was flawless looking despite...

Alright, so I'm probably gona pull the trigger on the 42" ST30 pretty soon unless chimes in and tries to stop me. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIER...5617291&sr=1-1 Any other suggestions?

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

Well this all started when I got a LED LCD Viera for my grandparents (free shipping with Amazon Prime and all), pretty impressive display. I had just assumed the ST30 was the set with 3D which I don't care about, I wasn't aware that the panels are that different. Seems like thats the way to go.

    42" LCD or Plasma recomendations

I'm more of an (DIY) audio guy and don’t really have time to follow all the specific TV releases. Basically I’m looking for 42” screen for movies primarily but I do watch some TV shows (Walking Dead, Luther, ect.), and football but really I’m most concerned about film. I don’t really foresee...

    VPN Router for small Business

What about Netgear Prosafe stuff?, particularly I was looking at this one, the latest firmware seems to fix the VPN issues some users had under Windows 7. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Prosaf...695605&sr=1-19 I would like to keep costs down so I can put it into cameras, and other gear if...

    VPN Router for small Business

    VPN Router for small Business

The Juniper is for sure overkill. Right now the IP camera server is running Windows 7 which is the machine we need VPN access too but I could switch it over to Windows Server as we are still evaluating software packages for the cameras. Perhaps that’s the best way to go?

    VPN Router for small Business

I suppose a simple DD-WRT router could work. I plan on having three separate VLANs (computers, IP cameras, and phones) but there won't really be much traffic between them so the router should have a pretty light work load. Also can I use the router's wireless along with a few Wi-Fi access...

    VPN Router for small Business

I'm looking for some recommendations for a router for small business environment. The router doesn't have to do much in terms of work load, just serve as the internet connection and support remote VPN access to an IP security system. At any given time there isn't likely to be more than one...

    Dell Ultrasharps 2407 vs. 2410

I actually bought it from a Amazon seller and they are being very cool about it. They will be sending me a pre-paid shipping label and are giving me the option of a full refund, a used 2410 at discounted price, or to I can wait till they get more refurbished units from Dell. I did try the...

    Dell Ultrasharps 2407 vs. 2410

Alright, so I'm sure I knew it at one point but I didn't realize the 2407 was a PVA panel, so yeah there should be some differences and there are. I haven't set them side by side but I'm not going to even bother as I've found a problem with the 2410; there are vertical gray lines on the right...

    Dell Ultrasharps 2407 vs. 2410

My main question is, is there much of performance difference between them, are they same panel, is one technically better than the other?, ect., I thought that was pretty clear. As a side note I prefer the all black bezel as I think the silver accent on the top and bottom a bit desecrating so...

Nice pics. Personally I would (and did) step up the case to a Lian Li. I have the PC-9F and it's the nicest case I've ever worked with, tons of room, good cable management, soft mounts for everything mechanical, super classy understated looks, and very high-quality build (ever peice is AL_...

    Dell Ultrasharps 2407 vs. 2410

I recently took a bit of a gamble and picked up a refurbished Dell Ultrasharp U2410 from Amazon for a client. Now, I've had my 2407 for awhile and I have the option to keep one or the other for myself. I did a quick check today and the 2410 seems to be in perfect order just a bit of grime on...

GTS 450 useful for GPU powered video editing?

Well I found a similar thread and it looks like the 450 should work. Just have to make the switch over to Adobe. http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/822589-gts-450-gtx-260-c216-adobe.html

GTS 450 useful for GPU powered video editing?

I know Adobe Premier can use GPU acceleration, there are some tricks you can do to enable it on unofficially supported cards. Though I do think it is limited to nVidia (Cuda) and probably only Fermi which the 450 is. The 450 is pretty decent at folding for the budget mid-range card that it is...

GTS 450 useful for GPU powered video editing?

I'm building a server for a client and have the opportunity to upgrade the GPU in his home desktop photo/video machine to a GTS450 I have sitting around. Right now the current card in the desktop is a very basic low-end Radeon 4000 series card which I would take out and use in the server and...

Hmm... maybe something a bit smaller?, I guess could just move it off the desk when I don't need it. I could go with the Logitech Chapbass linked to, I'm sure it would be good enough, but is USB going to be a reliable connection?
