Shouldn't the real question be, what have you got for a graphics card? That would determine for me which board I would use. If you are buying a new card the PCI without a doubt. If you already have a spendy AGP card and you aren't ready to fork over the $$ for a new card, then AGP. OG

DVD Burning Software to use

I have two burners and using DVD Decrypter I can start the software and burn to one drive then start another copy of the software and burn a different file (movie) to the other drive. Works like a charm. OG

Worth it to upgrade x800xl to x850xt PE for 12x10 LCD?

$200 for a used 800XL? I just bought a new one for $265. I needed AGP and didn't need the extra horses of an XT since I only have an AMD 3000+. I know that I was shopping for that card and I would not have paid anywhere near that. OG

creative zen micro (5 gig)$171 at mwave

I bought mine from Mwave (but not at this great price!). The Micro is a great player once you get used to the interface. The touchpad is way too sensitive in the default setting. Once you adjust the setting it's real easy to use and with 5Gb of space you can stuff a ton of music onto it...

Help with ATI 9700 PRO All In Wonder card install.

The latest drivers from the internet should be just fine but make sure you get all the pieces including all the optional software. I believe you will need the disk for the DVD software but other than that I don't think you will need the CD. OG

Norton Ghost images and bootable CDs?

I always use Ghost to write directly to the CD. Norton can make the first CD bootable by copying a "boot floppy image". You boot up with a floppy and it copies that floppy image to CD #1. I use this all the time. good luck, OG

Best video recording software to use with Radeon AIW?

If you are just going to use it to capture and view on that computer then I would just use the included capture utility with the Multimedia Center software as Duvie suggests. If you are going to use it to create MPEG or other formats that you will use on different computers then I would look to...

New 3dmark score>

Yeah that is low. I scored 4910 on 3DMark2003 and your system is definitely running at higher speeds than mine. I got that with a 380/350 o/c on my AIW but the cpu is underclocked slightly at 131MHz FSB. OG

My XP 2100 Tbird won't run at 133MHz FSB

Heatsink is good. I am getting about 29 degrees C with no load and about 35 degrees C with load. I have tried many different memory settings but I will try some more. I just have a nasty feeling that Registered memory is what is holding me back since it is slighlty slower. OG

Is This Setup Enough to Capture VHS?

I had the AIW Radeon (later called the 7200) and it was an awesome card for capturing video, both TV and VHS. I highly recommend the 7500 (same drivers as the 7200). I currently am using the AIW 9700 and it is even better. The drawback IMO with the ATI 7500 was the software for capturing. It...

But even if you have cable you either: A) Hook the cable to the cable box and then go to the ATI card and watch whatever channel the cable box is tuned to, or B) Hook the cable directly to your ATI card and watch only basic cable. That is what I do with my AIW. You need the receiver/tuner...

Anyone else have issues with the latest ATI Radeon drivers?

Make sure you grab the Capture driver. They came out with a new capture driver (August 9th) after Catalyst 2.2 (August 1st) because everyone was having this problem (me too). Good luck!

This extra step though did fix my problem. I had the same problems. Got an IP from DHCP but pinging and tracert all timed out. This fixed that and it is running fine now. OG
