XP->Change resolution/Batch file?

My daughter uses my WinXP system and everytime the resolution changes to 800x600. I want to create a batch file that runs everytime i log in that sets my resolution to 1280x960x32... any ideas? I know if i simply put the batch file into the startup folder it will work assuming the batch file...

KDE 3.0 released

Downloaded and installed it this morning, and so far i have to say i love it! One question though, does anybody know to compile Keramik from cvs? I downloaded everything in it's directory and now have not the fogiest idea. Anyways, KDE 3 is very nice, closing in on the fit and finish of Windows.

Mandrake install and partitions

Linux and WinXP.

in KDE.. when sending apps to other desktops.. how do you make the taskbar of the app apear only in the desktop its in?

Mandrake - X won't start

I have reloaded Mandrake 8.1 and everything was going great. I was able to install the latest nVidia drivers, got tuxracer and quake3 working, everything was great!! Today i try to boot it up all goes well until it reaches the nVidia splash screen. It show the splash screen for about 5 seconds...

Linux + USB

OK, i think the problem has something to do with HardDrake, when i open the Control Center and access the Hardware tab it try's to load HardDrake and it locks up and does not boot with USB, Sound or much else for that matter after. Therefore, i have loaded Mandrake again and will stay far away...

Dynamic Volumes - Win XP Home?

Poll: Do you like WinXP's GUI, or do you switch back to 98 classic style?

I hate Luna as MS ships it. That damn green start button makes me wanna puke!! Now, i do like that i can skin it with some very nice skins. I personally like Luna Aqua with a custom wallpaper. I know many of you hate the eye candy but i personally like it, i only wish that MS was as good at it...

Poll: The most significant Windows ever released?

No question in my mind, 95 would be the most significant. It was 95 along with Office that made MS a monopoly!! Is 95 as good as XP? Not close, but without the success of 95 who knows who if anybody would be dominating the os market today. Best: XP Most significant: 95

Linux Problem!!

Nope, i think some sort of bios change... damn kids!! The USB was not working at bootup when the problem began, i changed the settings so it would but it still is not recognized by Linux.

Redhat Ximianized ISO

My opinion of Ximian is that they kind of Mac-ize the Gnome interface. It does add a great deal of polish to the Gnome desktop. I personally like KDE but if i were to use Gnome it would be Ximian's version. It is not even close in my opinion.

Linux Problem!!

I am able to use my boot disk to get loaded all the way into Ximian Gnome. Problem is it does not detect anything USB, that includes the mouse and keyboard. Not much use without them!!

Ok, i had Mandrake 8.1 and WinXP working using Lilo... but then for reasons i do not understand when i try to boot to Linux this is what i get: Loading Linux................................... Then... Nothing!! I have tried to use the recue program on the Mandrake disk but it disables my USB...

Counter-Strike and XP problems.

Strange But True!! I also had a problem when i leave one server i cannot enter another without restarting Counter-Strike. My system was set to use D3D but when i changed to OpenGL it now works fine! I also added "-16" to the command line for starting Counter-Strike, this did nothing by itself...

Counter-Strike and XP problems.

WinXP Home + PWS?

I unfortunatley purchased Home edition because past home editions (95, 98) had Personal Web Server included. Now to my suprise XP Home does not!! Is there any way for me to install PWS on the Home edition or am i going to have to pay another $200 for the Pro upgrade to get it? I use it at home...
