Asus A8V Deluxe and Radeon 9800 Pro - help please

I tried AGP at 4x and disabled fast writes and still cannot run games (looks like openGL games, since I get 20059 in 3dMark 2001SE (which uses D3D I believe)). edit: The hammer is looking pretty attractive right about now! Thanks for the reply!

DEAD - M-Audio Revolution 7.1 Sound Card - $65 AR @ CompUSA - (** NEW DRIVERS! **)

I Upgraded from Audigy and Z-560's to Revolution 7.1 and Z-680's. Card seems much better for music playback... "brighter" treble/highs... I have no regrets... personally I hope I never have to own another Creative product....

Warm: $.07 Long Distance and Local Toll Calls

I pay $.05/ min out of state, 24/7, no monthly fee (as long as you pay on a CC 1.50 charge for payment by check). In state varies. For me $.08 (Ga.), but some states $.05. Highest I've seen in state was $.10. I hate monthly fees. Sometimes my longdistance bill is less than the fees carriers...

quiet as a Dell?

I have the 430W Enermax (FC) Whisper PS and its pretty quiet. I like not so noisy computers myself and left SCSI behind for that reason. My Enermax makes less noise then the 4 Panaflo L1A's that are running in there (L1A's 21dbA each).

Suggestions for good micro-atx case?

Man you must be psycho... I was just coming in here to post the same question! Looking for m-atx with P4 PS with a traditional/conservative appearance (going to be in offices). Depth of case 15" max. Or for that matter an ATX case with a depth of no more than 15" would be even better...

I used the Evercase for a couple systems last month. I was quite impressed by the quality and features (Screwless, Removeable drivecages....) and I'm going to use it again... for the money you can't beat it unless you get one of the Antec clones super cheap... but those deals can't be done...

Enermax EG365P-VE 350W PSU $46 shipped

I bought a Sparkle and returned it and got an Enermax with the Fan Control Whisper thingy. The Sparkle was fairly loud, loud enough to hear over 3 IBM SCSI drives (IBM's are kinda noisy themselves).

Cheap fans for the Antecs (and the Antec "clones") at mpja.com (2.99 or 2.49 qty. 10+). I got a dozen from them a couple months ago (buy 10 get 2 free). BG Micro had them cheaper last month (was 2.49 or 2.00/fan for 10+ qty., but now 3.19 / 2.75). BTW they are Panaflo L1A's.. good fans, rated...

Enermax EG-465P-VE(FC) PSU?!

I have this PS and have used it with an ABIT KG7 and now is in an MSI K7T 266 PRO2 and have had no probs. Running an MP1600 @ 1900 with 4 U160 10k SCSI HD's, 2 IDE 7200 HD's, 1 IDE 5400 HD, 1 24x CDRW, 1 40x CDROM and 6 case fans with no problems.

Sweetness! 1.6A and 1.8A retail - cheap at Newegg!

I'm going with the BD7-RAID if I decide to move to Northwood... can lock the PCI Bus speed... friend of mine has one running 2.0 OC to 2.5... but to stay quiet and cool he went with the $70 swiftech heatsink... they get pretty warm when OC %25...

yep... screw them in evenly (1/2 turn at a time or something) in cross pattern until bottom... step 4 of install instructions...

If you are talking about the holding screws that have the springs on them you should tighten them until they bottom... (at that point the aluminum stud going through the mobo will spin with a little resistance)...
