room temp vs case temp

how much higher should your pc's case temps be compared to the room temp it's being used in. Can someone give me an average temp ?

*** Official Intel Pentium 4 EE and Athlon 64 Thread ***

I'd wait for some benchmark before salivating on the P4 EE. The Athlon 64 is quite amazing when it comes to games and other programs. I think final judgement will only be available around december/january, when mobo makers are done tweaking there Athlon 64 boards. And there still the performance...

Barton 2500@3200, Prime95 fails but...

Well, I lowered my Barton to it's stock speed(1.83ghz) and just did 6 hours straight of Prime95 without any errors, so yes, my o/c Barton will not do Prime95 at 11X200mhz, but like I already said, everything else is doing OK. Anyway, my case temps are too high and I need to bring it down by 4-5C...

bjc112: I never said my system was crapping out, all I said was that Prime95 wouldn't run without errors. If having Prime95 not running properly is, for you, the same as having a PC crapping out, then we have a different way of seeing what an unstable PC is. Also, my memory is running at 133mhz...

Barton 2500@3200, Prime95 fails but...

Last night I decided to turn up the juice on my Barton 2500 and brought it to 11X200FBS. I decided to put the voltage at 1.675 volts just to be on the safe side even if it posted and booted into Win XP at default voltage. I also decided to download Prime95, latest version and run it on my PC to...

Sonata Cooling Problems?

There's an other OPTIONAL 120mm fan that can be added next to the hard drives bracket, but you must purchase one and install it yourself. Check the case manual if one came with your case or go the Antec's web site. Hope this helps.

Your comments on Kingston HyperX PC2700

By the time I change my memory again, we'll propably be looking at Intel and AMD chipsets running with DDR-II memory, so DDR400 may not be as hot as it is now.

I know PC3200 is better, but it costs more and only shows better performance is you crank up the fbs higher than 166mhz. But for what i need for a gaming rig, PC2700 will do the job at 2-2-2-5 1T.

Your comments on Kingston HyperX PC2700

I've been looking at buying some Kingston HyperX PC2700 for my Epox 8RDA+ (with latest bios). I'd get two KHX2700/512 modules from here , and prices are quite good. Just wondering if you'd had any bad mojo with this memory?

T-bred 2500+ (2.0 Ghz)

AMD would get a lot more performance out of there cpu's if they just raised the FBS from 133mhz to 166mhz. Getting performance is not just about raising cpu mhz.

New Athlon XP 2200+ is a .18 micron cpu...

Bad news for those waiting for the new thoroubreds to come out, but it looks like AMD's new 2200+ cpu is built on the older .18 micron process.

Help!!! computer keeps slowing down

Your cpu is probably throttling down because of over-heating. Make sure you used the right amount of thermal compound and then check that the heatsink is seated properly. Seems a few people have been having this problem.

IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL error in XP

Anyone else been getting this blue screen error in Windows XP? I heard it might be a driver problem or 2 components sharing the same IRQ and causing the error.

xp is awesome OS...

Demonicon: Dude, i played return to castle wolfenstein and it played really good. Don't think i can blame XP for slow downs if i had any. and that sh*tty compatibility wizard on xp is totally worthless with old games. i tried playing Birth of the Federation with it and i can't get it running...

xp is awesome OS...

WinXP is actuallly running on the Win2K kernel, so the OS should be as stable. What makes or would make the OS crash are the buggy drivers that feel more like beta drivers than release drivers.

Want to flash Epox 8K7A+ Raid controller...

I just wanna know if it's possible to flash the highpoint controller with a newer bios on an Epox 8K7A+ motherboard. Highpoint as been coming out with newer bios for it's controller, but Epox doesn't seem to provide a way to flash the onboard controller.

problem with duron 850!!! Frustrating! Unlockable??

I used this pencil for unlocking mine. The price is good and it's basically metallic ink. What I like about it is the small tip.

You're right, 3D Mark 2000 and 2001 scores can not be compared. You have to run the same version on both computers.

Does AYHJA run cooler than AXIA ???

I've seen a lot of people post AYHJA temp readings that were somewhat cooler than AXIA running at same speed and same voltage. Is it just me or is the AYHJA core actually running cooler ?

Abit KG7... For those of you that are waiting for this board

Personally, I'd go for the Epox 8K7A+. It's already been reviewed and does extremelly well, it's actually the fastest 760 based mobo out there as of now. Second, once you've found the sweet spot for your cpu, why would you want to play with the bios again? Sure, it's not practical to reach...

Is DDR CAS 2 worth it or should I just buy Micron DDR CAS 2.5 ?

With the price for 256mb of DDR memory at $70 on crucial's website, I was wondering if they're was a big difference in performance between Cas 2.5 and Cas 2. I don't know if prices will ever be this low again, so that's why I wanna make the purchase now.

KT133A WILL NOT SUPPORT PALOMINO. WILL KT266?

KT133A will support the Palomino, but your motherboard must provide the appropriate voltage. "May the force be with you... you will need it."
