That is really good to know. Makes me wonder though if the fan connectors could possibly cause one of the 120mm to stall and burn out due to the initial voltage not being enough to overcome the friction of a fan starting. Do you know if the voltage spikes at the beginning of powerup?

You need to run those 120mm off the 5v line or 7v. Otherwise 120mm fans can be just as loud as other sizes running at the same RPM. The advantage of 120mm fans is that you can have them run slower by using lower volatge. This gives you the same airflow s a 80 running at full speed...

Thanks for ideas and links guys. I emailed Jim concerning the case. The grommited fan holes are a great plus as well since it isolates vibration. The rounded grilles will hepl silence as well.

Back pressure from a duct? That is in all actuallity not a real issue.
If you are running a 120mm with the 120-80mm duct conversion (Plycon has a manufactured one), and you are undervolting the fan at 5-7v, then the noise you produce from back pressure is FAR less than the noise you eleminated...

Let me give you a little advice from a ChemE.
Heat transfer does not exist in a void. Although you cannot create a "void" you can decrese the pressure in the case, therfore decreasing the effective heat transfer that can take place. Remember, a decrease in pressure basically means less matter...
All you need is air flow. Suspending it will work fine too. Its all a matter of heat flowing away from the heat sink.
If you find your not getting enough flow, then create a makehift duct to better direct the air at the heat sink.

The abit NF7-S can use the theP4 12V power connector...I was wondering if someone could help me figure out if that connector is REQUIRED though for the board to operate?

Actually the transition time for the color changes in pixels are not a listed spec on any LCD, only the white to black (30ms in this case).
