Recommend storage HDD

Recently I have wierd problems with my hard drives - I have 5 in my system and 2 500 GB WDs just do not wanna play nice with the whole setup. I get controller errors, lost sectors -worrysome stuff . So I want get 2 drives for software RAID setup (software so I am not hostage of mb controller)...

Intel SSD refresh?

I made decisions to buy SSD and now the choice is between Vertex and Intel x-25m. I am leaning towards intel, but heard there might be update coming for it soon. Cant find any other information, does anyone know more details?

Intel Plans 34nm 320GB Solid State Disks in Q4

I never paid over $200 for HDD. Including the 120 Gb WD I bought in 2001 (still in my system). I pad $110 for WD5000 KS 2 years ago, and 99$ for 1TB recently. Though I would pay 200-300 for a high speed 256 GB drive with intel specs (not that jmicron shit)

Are 64 GB SSD for 130$ worth it?

I squat more than I deadlift

You underestimate role of lower back. Especially in conventional - past the knees lower back role increases more and more and lockout is ALL back.

E4300 Overclocks?

E4300 Gigabyte P965 S3 Cooler Master Hyper TX on AS5 OCZ 6400 OC to 3200 with 1.35 (stock 1.325) . Seems stable (ran orthos ,S&M) at 60 C. TAT shows wierd temps though 20-25 degrees higher than coretemp and pcwizard ( 80-90 C under load) . Rather unhappy with such pathetic OC...

What kinda of video to run CS:S at 1680 x 1050?

Will PC2100 slow down significantly AMD 64 socket 754?

Subj. I already have 768 MB Cl 2.5 ,PC2100 DDR SD RAM , and with current prices I really do not want to buy new ram. How much slower my system will be with PC2100 ram instead of PC3200? (I use my rig primarily for gaming and applications development) .

Is a P4 that much better at video ripping/encoding then an AMD?

In dvd encoding hard drive speed and dvd drive playe a huge role too. So while AMD XP objectively does encoding worse by 20%-30% than similar rated p4 it very well may not be deciding factor. AMD 64 does encoding very well , and as recent 64 bit test showed on Win XP 64 it may very well trump P4.

which Intel CPU should I get?

If you using PC for gaming intel cpu is a very bad choice. Especially prescott -slow ,hot ,uncompatible piece of crap. You would be better with some OC 2.5 northwood , but since you have old mobo and need upgrade whole system anyway buying a64 3000+ would be a much better choice.
