FTP SERVER on DSL !

Is there any way I can access my FTP server on my pc which is on DSL from outside ? I am running WARFTP. DSL modem SPEEDTOUCH 510 on eth0. I have a static remote IP. thanks in advance..:o:confused:

Fake surf !

proxify is good but needs registration and payment, i wanna download some small text files from a site and i cannot download them.... anything else free ? i wanna hide my urls from my own proxy/web server... ) crazy isn't it ?

1rst I am not the proxy superuser, 2nd I am just a internet user, but some sites are blocked, cause are used for software download..

2 years ago there was a site if i remember well www.fakesurf.com and you could surf to prohibeted sites through another site... Is the a site or a software that can do that ? my proxy blocks access to some urls.... and I wanna get through something else to browse them... is there a way ...

Network Hubs ? r there any limits ?

Well I have a LAN of 130 pc, but the connections are quite a mess. I want to ask is there any limit of hubs connected each other ? or on a network ? or on the same Subnet ? any advice ? shall i use a bridge with every 4 hubs ? or something else ? thks 4 the help...

any gay 2 get tv-out from gf3 ti200 ?

a friend of mine had a sblaster card and he managed to get a digital output from the card using a simple RC circuit .. . the card was supporting the digit output but there was no output connector . .4 it.. :)

is there any way to get tvout from this vga card ? Asus GF3 Ti 200 64 MB, bought 2 years ago.. Sometimes there are circuits that support tvout on some vga boards but the companies do not place the tvout output at the vga card.. and some hardware gurus manage with simple RC circuits to get it...

well i have a two years old pc mother KR7a-R (ddr266) and GF3 ti200, but I dont have tvout. The cheapest solution I found is to buy a PCI card 32/64 MBs with TVout. Does the Computer works with both vga cards same time .? having GF3/agp plugged to the monitor and another PCI-tvout card plugged...

how do i get CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up task manager? and other lil pet peeves...

CONTROL + SHIFT + ESCAPE have fun...... I manage to use mirc program without a mouse :) it took me a few minutes to find out all the secret shortcuts..;) :);)

mcafee virus scan 601 _mfirewall

I use MCAFEE NT 4.03 antivirus since 1999 (with NT4 and now with NT5 win2k) and it works fine, and it has also online update which is very easy and NO ads too.

I got mcafee visurscan 6.0.1 and together mcafee firewall 3.0, i installed them, then i reboot and now both seams to work but I cannot open any window from any of then ? any idea ? i am on win2k.( before that I had mcafee 4. which was ok and could do autoDAT update from the website.

no such thing exists . . .Its a bug in you pc . . Try ad-aware from www.lavasoft.de to check if any program is messing with the others... like IE.

xp users: how many of you have gone back to win2k?

Edman: I think you made the worst choise... I had friends using winxp and had many problems with bluescreens, low network connection, crashes after openning napster and more stuff that drive them crazy..... until the day they decide to install win2k.

xp users: how many of you have gone back to win2k?

hahahaahahahahahahahah what difference does it make if it takes 10 or 40 minutes to boot.......or shutdown. I almost reboot my pc three times a week. . . .Performance and stability is what matter for me most..not that crapy special effects and visual attractions... I tried to force myself...

well I hate xp too.. cause micrap-soft came with an new win2k version but with another colour.... I had the same problem like the YVO . I read all the stuff about the drivers of VIA and I installed winxp twice in my Abit KR7 -XP1800 w/o via drivers, cause they say winxp has the right drivers...

Anyone tried Suse 8.0 yet?

It rocks... I used to have Slackware, but now suse8 is the best I have ever tried up to now... If you are carefull during the installation you manage to setup all your hardware and in about 40 minutes you are ready to rock... Wintv hauppage - CDRW HP8100 - ETHERNET Realtec - Modem Serial...

SuSe 8.0 Question

I installed suse 8 and i manage to setup veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easily: printer - hp 720c - which no other distro finds cause needs some special drivers webcam - usb creative webcam go - it did all by itself ( it takes more time in windows, about 2 restarts) winTV hauppage pci - very easily :)...

Any material advantage of WinXP over Win2K ?

does different filters support different types of printers ? postscript or not ? I will try to change the filters... Do you know how to do it manually ? I have a window that asks me to chose a filter what I wanna do it manauly in case the wizard doesn;t work.. well I will have a go later...

lpd runs on the boot time :( Its not my first day with linux . . . just something with the whole configuration suscks... I used my old Hunday printer 10 years old, line printer, and it does print better than it does with my win95 system.. but that hp-never worked on the slackware box.

well i use slackware 3 years now... I used to have redhat before but it was difficult to configure :) I mean redhat does it all by itself... you just look it.... ( it sucks 4 me). I like slackware cause its easy to configure although you have to configure it manually but thats the good...
