New Development Job, No Degree. Any Advice?

Offline turn by turn navigation app for android ?

I've used CoPilot Live 8 in the past (and plan to do so on my next road trip). It does the job without an active data connection (main reason for using) and the voice direction sounds half decent (i.e. the google navigation "robot" voice is well...). Could be a little faster, but very usable...

I just received my nexus one. Initial impressions...

Agreed, US Patent system is quite inept. There seems to be patents on the most basic things. I could see on pinching/zooming, but general touching. Crazy. I.e. "1-Click purchase", just weak.

Can you swap out phones on AT&T W/o Problems?

bump. Still want to make sure it's OK if I sell a new/newish phone if I don't like it even though I got it as part of a contract extension. Seems like it should be fine, but I could see some room for abuse here.

Need help getting CSS Rollovers to work

Problem writing network code in Java...

Does it just "hang" in the loop? I haven't done much java newtwork programming in a while, but I think if you are waiting for the loop to break via "(responseLine = is.readLine()) != null" it will never happen unless your server explicitly sends NULL to the client (or use a designated end...

Which text editor do you use?

NEdit in *nix (use emacs if not available) Textpad in Windows Both have syntax highlighting (expandable by download), tabbed windows, and .... I haven't really played around with many others on the Windows side, but TextPad does what I need it to (UltraEdit looks pretty nice too).
