Problem with nforce and Klipsch 5.1

Has anyone had any luck running Klipsch 5.1's with an nForce board? More specifically an Asus A7N266-E. I can't get the rears or the center to work, effectively turning my 5.1 system into a 2.1 system. I'm running Windows XP, I've flashed the BIOS to the latest and greatest, Uninstalled then...

MAYBE asus a7v266-e SUCKS!

nFoce Stability

Athlon, I just got my A7N266-E up and running. I'm also running at 256fsb and it's solid as a rock. The only problem so far is getting Mech Warrior 4 to run on Windows 2000. It's most likely a driver issue and I've downloaded some Microsoft patches that will hopefully resolve it. Other than...

Try machine 2's known good ribbon cable in machine 1. Or, try machine 1's ribbon cable on known good hard drive in machine 2. I'm just trying to isolate the problem, which is hard to do if you don't verify what works and what doesn't. i.e. If the hard drive and cable from machine 1 both work...

Xeno, If the hard drive will boot a separate system, I don't think there is a need to reformat it. Here's a few things to check on: When the HD was tried in a different machine, was a different ribbon cable used? Have you tried connecting the HD to both IDE controllers on the Motherboard in...

Taz, Just one thing, The A7N266 and the A7n266-E are releasing on the same day. The A7N266 actually has two sound chips onboard, the cMedia and the non Dolby iteration of the nForce MCP. It is essentially the Nforce 420 version of their board, as opposed to the 420-D. I really don't think...

Pricewatch also has the Asus A7N266-E boards listed as well. Availability is listed on most of the as 11-29. From what I've heard so far the MSI board has a lot of bugs to be worked out. Whereas Asus generally doesn't release until they are viturally bug free. I initially had an MSI ordered...

Nforce - DD & raid???

Dolby Digital, yes the MSI K7N420 Pro. So far I don't know of any that have on board RAID. But you can always purchase a separate Raid controller. I'm not positive about XP supporting software RAID, but I couldn't imagine it not since it's so similar to Win2K.

Nforce is way too expensive

Most likely, Nvidia didn't have "Joe the PC guy" in mind when the deciced to produce this board. Odds are they were aiming at getting some of the big box computer manufacturers that they sell video cards to on board with nForce.

Some of us really like it way out in left field Classy. Yes, the nForce boards are more expensive. I think that they should be with all of the extras! I've been waiting for this thing to be released since August, and I'll gladly pay a bit of a premium.
