How do I create a Win2K bootable disk?

Do you want the boot disks, or the win2k cdrom? The boot disks(4) can be made by going into the boot disk folder and clicking on makebt32.exe, then just have 4 3.5" floppies ready. I can't help you with the cd, except if you claim to IBM that you need he disk to do a reformat in you OS gets...

Opposing Forces Won't install!!!!!

I have installed half life, then when I tried to install opposing forces(both in the same folder as half life was in, and in another folder) it wouldn't install. Then the readme said that some Pioneer DVD models (which I used to install it) could have problems with the copywrite protection on...

Windows 2000 boot disk issue at NewEgg

After just ordering win2k from newegg, I realized it came with no boot disk. Luckilly I had another machine handy to make all FOUR disks. Still even though I bought the OEM version, how was I supposed to install it if another machine ahd not been handy? Just a heads up to anyone. BTW, win2k...

**ATTN Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 owners**

Yeah, I get that too. A short 2 second whine in the central channel. It is nothing, mine have worked fine, and this is just a small problem, like the sometimes glitchy master volume dial. They are fine, and currently the best speakers for under $700. Fire up some DVDs and DirectX 8 games...

Reformatting 2K system, any reason not to install XP instead of 2K?

Just dual boot 98se and 2k(throw in XP if you must, but you'll regret it later), since this way you'll have across the board windows compatability without the glitches of XP.

THE best case and cooling

Addtronics W8500. It's both ATX AND WTX complaint, and it will cool off ANY processor. It has 3 92mm intakes (one bows through the HD cage, cooling them) and 2 80mm fans (one blows on all you 5.25 inch drives. Then since it is a WTX converted case (but let me stress that it is fully complaint...

What are the most STABLE drivers for my rig

All my components need drivers for both win 2k and 98se: Asus A7V266-E (Need via 4 in 1) Gainward gf3ti500 (What version of the detenators cause the least problems) Audigy gamer (I read of some win 2k issues in the past, but do those persist?) Thanks!

Dual Boot + Tri Partition Question

I'm having the same problem. The direct 3d driver in 8.1 appears to be a dx7.0 driver, leading to my not being able to play max payne. Also, can I downgrade my directx back to 8.0a?

Sony CPD G520 problems

I got this monitor two months ago, and now, when it on for more than two hours, the bottom left quadrant (yes, 1/4 of the frickin screen)get VERY yellow tinged. I ordered two monitor coolers, but I am wondering wheather it is heat, or a flaw in the monitor. This cost me $800, and I must know!

8500 image quality worth the drop in performance?

BUY THE TI500!!! I have that specific gainward card, and it easily overclocks, and at 1600 X 1200 100hz, it looks SPECTACULAR. Nvidia is the company to stick with, since they actually have a staff of trained professionals writing driver software, rather than a bunch of monkeys on typewritters...

6567 3D marks w/ATI AIW Radeon 8500DV? Why so low? PLEASE HELP!

Check all your drivers, make sure to install the APG TURBO drivers in the 4 in 1 instilation. Also, keep in mind that the 8500DV's clock is set lower than the 8500's. Lastly, WinXP could be shafting you, since it is a recent microsoft release (ie gamma test), and therefore is not well...

I have the Asus A7V266E (kt266a), and the asus probe software came with it. Also I have the Addtronics W8500 case that have more than enough airflow (my mb temps are 30).

Asus A7V266E sound problem

My A7V266E doesn't seem to detect my Audigy X-Gamer. Do I need to disable the onboard sound first, then install the Audigy drivers? Or is my card/PCI slot bust?

Does the Swiftech MCX462 fit in the Asus A7N266??

It fits fine, just go easy on the mounting screws, and you'll be fine. But buy the MCX462 just to make sure (i have the MCX 462, so I'm not sure about the MC462).

Mounting case fans with 3 screws, not 4

I am installing some case fans with rubber grommets, and was wondering if there are any auditory advantages of using only 3 mounting screws instead of 4, since I recall their being a prior post about 3 being more quiet.

GF3 Ti Roundup At Tomshardware

Yeah, 2ds shot must be shown in future articles. Personally, I think that firingsquad's accessment of leadtek's 2d was crap, since it is decent, but no where near matrox, ati, or gainward. Also, they have NO evidence to back up their claim in terms of screenshots.
