They said you shouldn't have a mortgage payment 50% of your take home pay.....

Just counting my salary, my mortgage payment is 32% of my take home pay. Counting the rent from my rentals it drops to 21%. I can't wait until it drops down to 0% because I paid it off.

Having trouble losing weight because I feel the urge to eat...

I agree, if you go with your typical low fat diet to lose weight. I switched to a paleo style diet and I'm never hungry, in fact I have to remind myself to eat. I've dropped 81 pounds so far in 6 months.

IMHO, if you can't pay cash for a brand new car without it making a significant dent in your cash reserves then you shouldn't buy a new car. You are much better off buying the car that is 2 to 3 years old, whether you finance it or pay cash. Or you can start off with the $1000 beater and work...
