video games on a projection TV. why is it bad?

In theory, I imagine a movie placed on pause for an extended period of time could damage your Projection TV, but I doubt that's likely to occur. There's also other things your game can do to cause this.

Hmm... that does seem to help some. But the combined performance hit doesn't look too prmosing. :)

Hmm... I was wondering if it was perhaps something with my configuration, or even if there was some way to circumvent it. It's a shame, since it's otherwise works well.

Since several of us (myself included) have recently been picking up the GF3's at BB, I thought this would be a good time to ask: Is anyone else disappointed by the Quincunx AA? Don't get me wrong: it's every bit as good at getting rid of aliasing as people claim. At 1024x768 with QAA, jaggies...

Your projection television screen may be permanently damaged if video games with stationary scenes or patterns are played on your projection television. Similar damage may occur if you place a video game on hold or pause.

Try installing the Indeo video codecs. You might have had them installed by a game or some such thing.

Dets 21.85 vs 22.80

The 21.85's didn't seem to agree with my GF3 either: Sacrifice refused to run and I was getting questionable performance in some games. So I, too, got the 22.80's and have no complaints so far. It's the drivers, I guess.

I reccomend NVMax over Rivatuner, but that's just a personal preferance.

Your 3DMark2001 score (version 2)

I got a 4531 (or thereabouts). My rig is as follows: 1.13ghz T-Bird 256mb PC133 RAM GeForce 3 Ti200 I was expecting it to be a bit higher. Here's the real kicker, though: I used nVMAX and set my GF3 for the fatest settings and got an even 4500. Got a slightly higher score when I switched to...

Nvidia tweak proggy that lets you lock refresh rates (a la powerstrip)

How much are you OC'ing with Visiontek Geforce2 GTS-V?

Rather than start a new topic, I think I'll just ask here :) : I just got a VisionTek GF3 Ti200 and was wondering what would be a good range to O/C it to. Thanks. Edit ~ Nevermind, I got my answer in another topic. :) It's at 200/460 now.
