Crap, crap, crap. Got a flat tire this past weekend and it was unpatchable! Had to buy a New Bridgestone Potenza RE92 which cost $100. Argh-ith. IMA light also came on, but it was VERY hot in SD last Saturday which I attributed to that. The next day it went off when it was cooler. Still love...

Which grid charger do you guys recommend getting? I have done zero mods, but I really want to get a move on! Is there a way to modify the IMA so that that it can run off pure EV mode at a flip of the switch? That would be cool for short jaunts.

The disel gets 80+ mpg without the hybrid drivetrain which is crazy good. Imagine over triple digits on a daily basis once the battery pack can be used. The K20 would just be a fun swap since the Insight weighs just 1800lb's and it still gets 45 mpg :P

Oxygen Sensor related to reduced fuel economy?

A broken O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold will lead to lowered fuel economy. The one (or more) in the cat just compares the AFR between the sensors and throws a CEL if it's beyond a certain threshold.

The ZF-branded auto's are pretty tough stuff or so I hear. Newer usually always beats older for me. Keeps the mileage down as well.

What do you guys think of the Audi S4 (B5)? The V6 Bi-turbo is tempting. I'm not sure what kind of auto tranny is in that though. Don't mind the B6 or B7, but the cost on those probably exceed well beyond $15k.

Touché. Still new, but I'm glad VW/Audi stepped it up with the additional warranty. At least, to my knowledge, it's not a sealed unit like Mitsubishi's TC-SST in the Evo X MR and Lancer Ralliart. Whole tranny has to be replaced at a cost of $10k per unit.

^ Great to know about the extended mileage warranty! I read into the S tronic system that Audi uses and it appears it's their 2nd gen 7-speed system that is more reliable. I'd dream of an Audi S4 Avant, but yeah I'll keep dreaming.

Is the DSG that bad in the 06-09 models? I did have a friend have his replaced with a '10 version and hasn't had a problem since, but iono. I'm sure he doesn't drive it hard so why it was replaced worries me.

Anything out there you guys recommend? I was thinking VW GTI (MK5) or BMW E46 M3. Mileage around 50k with a wagon or hatchback setup would be best, but a large boot can be considered. I do all my own work so euro's don't scare me away. I also want some kind of paddle shifting dual clutch...

Sell the G and buy a Z?

I guess it depends how competitive the OP wants to be. Honestly though, any car can be auto-x'ed. It's no big deal. If anything it's a great way to see the limits of your vehicle which can be directly translated to driving more informatively on the street.
