You don't mention what kind of Chase card (Visa or MasterCard), but I know that Newegg started using "Verified by Visa" some time ago, which might be what you're seeing. It's supposed to help stop on-line CC fraud, but I'm not certain how much protection is really adds. Mostly, I just find it...
Now that they are limiting it to one per customer, they *should* know exacty how many units they could potentially sell this time around. I'll be *really* ticked if I don't get one.
I placed my onsale order through Amazon and was worried that the Amazon order number wouldn't work, but it did. I have a confirmation number, now I just hope I actually get a touchpad.
If it was really charged, I would think so. However, you might be seeing a "hold", which is not the same thing and doesn't mean that your order will be fulfilled.
