My Vista activation woes, i feel like a naughty school kid !

You DON'T think having to re-activate on a phone an over priced OS every time you do something to it merits a complaint????? This kind of paranoia by Microsoft is exactly why I stay away from Vista. It goads me to see how when every time someone writes a legit complaint about this OS rip off...

Gigabyte 965P S3 and G.Skill Ram

That's funny, I have Corsair XMS2 ram that I used in both the S3 that recently died on me and the DS3 that I recently bought to replace it. The only problems I've had with it is in the DS3 (F4 bios), which won't let me manually set the timing without instability.

Okay.... Thanks for the reply. I'll be ordering a DS3 tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that there isn't something wrong with the processor.... but, from all indications and stories I've read about the S3 reliability, seems it's a MB problem. :disgust:

Yeah, I think it's suppose to do that, and if you disable the cpu fan failure alarm, it's maybe not so annoying. What I found out though was, my cpu temp has dropped a few more degrees with it disabled and I'm not sure just how much power you save by using it. It still bothers me though to...

I had that experience.... go into the bios and into the pc health part - set cpu fan control from "auto" to "disable". I have no idea why it would stop the fan on boot up for me but I wasn't aware of it until I had enabled the cpu fan malfunction alarm.

Frustrated with MB options for Conroe

BFG 6800 GT giving artifacts

Yeah, I know for a fact the antec truepower 380w will do that card justice - I had one running mine for awhile before I used it to upgrade someone else's box. Hope you find it's a driver issue.

Those temps are not out of the ordinary for a BFG 6800gt.... if your not overclocking and you get this consistently in all games, I'd check your ps. If that's adequate, I'd consider RMA.

Athlon 64 RAM dilemma

I agree with JBT on this one.... I have the Epox 8kda3j (Nforce3) board and I'm using 1 gig (2x512)Kingston Value ram with no problems. Depending on what you call "light" overclocking, it will be fine.

HELP - Laptop replacement hard drive questions.

If your want something a little cheaper, and don't really need that much space, I just replaced my dying Dell 8200 Inspiron hard drive with this Seagate Momentus. It's a very quiet and quick drive. Otherwise the one Gepost recommended is a good choice. Edit: check out the warranty

Farcy doesn't like 6800gt memory OC

Overclocking 6800gt

Just be aware that some GTs are experiencing some slow deaths after being pushed to hard. I would really sit back and ask yourself if you really need that extra for anything else than a 3dmark03 bragging score.
