both gta3 and nfs5 had horrible driver issues. i think they got fixed with revisions, but they had problems nonetheless. i'm not saying the problems were limited to those games... i'm just giving examples.

it just seems odd that they'd go out of their way to use an inferior memory for the p4. that web page is messed up adul... does anyone know the rest of the specs of the systems? if they chose to be inconsistant with the memory, who knows what else they screwed up.

then i guess you really dislike the durons and athlons. come on man... electricity usage is a stretch. especially on a board frequented by enthusiasts with multiple hd's, optical drives, case fans, large monitors, etc. the cpu is of little concern.

and think about the upgrade path... amd will be switching sockets for hammer, and who knows how long the t-bred will go. (probably not very far, imho.) since rumor has it that prescott will also use s478, it appears that intel will stick with s478 for a while. my how the tables have turned...

the prices quoted were from amd "in 1,000-unit quantities". you can always buy them for less (although i don't understand why that is.) for instance, intel sells the p4-2400mhz for "$562 in 1,000-unit quantities", but you can get it at newegg for $526. also, the celeron price is for a retail...

so, you want intel to tell you that it's a "2200mhz cpu, but can overclock to xxxx mhz"? actually, intel brand boards do not have overclocking settings. besides, you didn't even buy an intel chipset. as pointed out earlier, it's a sis chipset on a board made by asus. i still don't understand...

i understand that you are frustrated because of a misleading review (or maybe you misunderstood.) but that's hardly the same as being "screwed by intel." they never promised you that a 2200mhz cpu will run at 2900mhz. that's ridiculous. btw, what reviews are you reading that say that 2900mhz...

yeah, but add a "good heatsink and a 8cm Panaflo fan" and you've just thrown your price advantage out the window. a 1800+ (1533mhz)w/good hs and fan will run around $150. in a couple weeks, you should be able to get a northwood 2000mhz for about $160, and it will come boxed with an exceptional...
