Right now I have a Radeon VIVO 64mb card. With the Radeon 8500's so cheap right now I want one. I am an ATI whore so I will not buy a GeForce. I just want to be reassured that it's worth the upgrade or should I wait for the next gen cards to come out?

Dell is coming out tomorrow to replace HD's.
I plan on doing a NT4 install, then restore everything from the tape backup.

Same over here I am the Administrator of 150 Dell desktops and 6 Dell 2550. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I have recommed and sold about 15 to emloyees of our company. They have also had no complaints about them. I don't know why people have such a problem with them.

I vote for a Dell also. I used to build computers for friends untill I became there help desk. Just have them buy a Dell and then you will not have them bugging you everytime they need a driver update.

Thanks for the reply. I have been very impressed so far with the suppport I have been given. I told them what I did to troubleshoot the card and then asked them if it could be anything else. They said no and issued an RMA for it. Normaly you have to walk through about 30 mins if stuff before...

All you have to do is disable the legecy(sp) support in device Mgr. for your sound blaster live card. I had the same problem and am suprised that nobody could figure it out.

Are the jumpers on the drives set correctly?
Try to Enable DMA on the second drive. If you can't enable it you have a DMA conflict, normaly it come's from the legecy(sp) support for a sound card. If thats the case just disable the legecy suppport for the sound card. All that does is allow you to play DOS game with sound. Also What OS are...

<< If you want/need longer wires than the standard ones, just go to Radio or Home Depot and get some 16 gauge speaker wire or "zip cord".
If your wires are less than 12 feet long, 18 gauge is plenty thick. 16 gauge is good to about 50 feet long.
I highly doubt the Z560's come with 14 gauge...
I had this same problem with my SB card. Does your Diamond Monster MX400 offer any dos support? If it does disable all Legicy(sp) support under Device Mananger in windows. This is what I did and it fixed my problem. What happens is the Sound Card uses the same DMA channels that he CD Roms...
