40X CDRW Drive Recommendations - LiteOn/Plexy?

I currently own a Plextor and while I think its a great drive I would probably buy the LiteOn if I was buying a drive now. My reasoning is that because I have a Slot-Load Pioneer 16x DVD I NEVER use my plextor for Reads. I wish ALL drives were slot load!

Plextor 16/10/40 almost dead...help?

Try updating your ASPI drivers. I find them to be the cause of 90 percent of my burning problems and I have the exact same drive as you.

Radeon 8500LE 128mb @ 8500 (3dmark2001se)

Earlier today I managed to get my Radeon 8500LE 128mb running stable at 290 core 290 Mem (580ddr) with 3.6ns memory. I was wondering if any of you who owned the same card managed to get any higher scores. Do any of you have 3.3ns memory on your 8500LE 128s? I must say that for $286.96 Canadian...

graphics cards

OMG GET THE RADEON! The Radeon 8500LE retail box comes with 3.3ns memory... you should be able to get the card Oced to 300core/600ddr. It will trounce the G3 Ti200. The performance difference between an 8500LE and regular 8500 is maybe 5% and if your overclocking its 0%.

CrazySaint: A good friend of mine just happens to have the PF790 and even he admits that he likes my monitor better (900nf). The Viewsonic P95F is probably the only Viewsonic I'd enjoy. (Sorry for multiple posts... JK2 Sabre fights are getting boring)

JMichna made some good suggestions but "Once you go Flat you never go back." If your looking at Cornerstone I've heard so many good things about the p2460 that I can't list them all here. Not to bash monitors direct but 384 is pretty steep for a Samsung 900NF. I got mine for 529.99 Canadian...

I have a Samsung 900NF and with BNC connection it is the best 19" monitor I have ever used. At Higher refresh rates (100hz) I found a noticable improvement in image clarity when using the BNC connections instead of regular VGA but I may have just had a bad VGA cable. I've heard the Philips 19"...

LOL LISTEN TO ALL THESE ASUS FANS! I have purchased and installed 4 ECS boards 3 of which were k7s5as and with the proper bios update they all work great! I OWN an Asus A7M266 and it is a P.O.S.! I have had more problems with my "Mercedes of mobos" than I have with ANY OTHER manufacturer...

Official TV-Out card thread

The "BEST" TV-Out is on the Radeon 8500DV but the one on the Radeon 8500LE and regular 8500s are very good too. DONT GET AN NVIDIA card if you want good TV-out. The best Deal is the Radeon 8500LE 128Ram Retail Box /3.3ns memmory and an ATI Remote WOnder... The Remote wonder is an RF remote.

I think Windows XP Pro is the most stable MS OS I have ever used. That is not to say it is perfect, far from it actually but the new features, design, coloring and layout make it much more pleasant to work with. I have more faith in the NTFS file system than I do in FAT 32...

Tom I have a couple more suggestions... If you have $200 buy a Hercules GameTheater XP 6.1 (DealsDirect) and $290 will get you an ATI Radeon 8500LE 128mb (3.3ns ram 250/250) at Crawford Micro Systems. If cost is a problem try an OEM Audigy is $100 and a Geforce 2 Ti 200 should be easy to find...

Be reasonable here guys... The system he is running is pretty good with the exception of that harddrive. I'd say get 2 60GB Harddrives then when you have the cash get a RAID motherboard. Access speeds are incredible with 3 drives in RAID 0!
