I just reinstalled windows in June. If a power outage causes in to have to be done again.. then computers are useless. Grrr.. If only it were really alive so I could kill it!..
The memory may be bad to.. but it tested ok in June. hopefully its stll ok.. Im doing various checks as I get...
Hum.. Sorry about the title.. I know its vague, but I wasn?t sure how to title it..

This may seem like a dumb question.. But I just want to make sure... But if I am reinstalling XP on C: will I loose or will...
I guess each linksys router is just different. I posted this on another forum and someone said that the latest firmware caused them to get disconnected. They went back to an older firmware and it quit disconnecting. This site last summer was just one of many sites that had post praising...
My router is a Linksys BEFSR41 Ver2. I bought it this past summer and it work fine up until November. Ever since then it has been dropping my internet connection randomly. It may drop it twice or 20 times an hour. It may last for 30 seconds or 10 mins. +.
I noticed that when it does this that...
I was just wondering how a URL can get in my address bar when I did not type it manually.. much less ever seen...
I use spybot.. and adaware.. and Im behind a router and sygate firewall..
Basically I just found it odd and I wondererd if any of you knew how that could happen and or how to...
I noticed in my address bar a URL that I have never been to (http://w3z.us/)
This URL appears to be a warez site.
Here is my problem...
I want to know how this URL got there.
I was told that URL's in the address bar are ones that have been typed in manually. URL's
in the history are...
Thanks for the help so far.
If its suppose to do that.. then now my wife going to hold it over me that her computer is twice as fast as mine....
Then I suppose I can turn off Sygate right in the middle of her Ebay bid ... :)
I have a 56K connection, and I'm the server. Yes slow when we are both on.. but best I can do right now.
After I boot.. the lights go out...
At this point I can connect with no problem. She cannot connect, and we cannot access each other computer... its simply dead...
I barley touch the...
I just built two computers for me and my wife.
They are identical with the exception of the
Graphics card brand.
My problem is that my computer boots very slow.
It takes my wife?s computer approx 15 seconds to boot
and mine around a full min.
I have had them both up and running now for about...
Ahh!.. that must be it. She was using Win 98 (fat 32).. and I upgraded her to win xp using a new HD..
The new HD is NTFS and the main (80GB).. and her new one is 40GB (still fat 32) and is a slave.
But that still doesn't seem right that it let her move a couple of movies until the 40GB...
My operating system is Windows XP. I have an 80GB WD HD, and a 40GB WD HD.
I recorded a couple movies onto the 80GB HD using a TV card. I moved a few over to the 40GB for storage until I have time to work on them. I just went to move another over and it says that theres not enough free...
I just noticed..
The Fan 2 pin connector has a red and blue wire on it.... and the 3 pin to 4 pin connector has a 3 pin connector with a red and black wire on it ( one is spot is free).
I noticed that I could shave off the prongs on top of the 2 pin connector and it would connect to to 3...
Some Panaflo fans I ordered just came in and they have two pin connectors on the end. I also ordered two 3 pin to 4 pin connectors just incase I ran out of places.
The problem is that the 3 pin connectors won't connect to the 2 pins connectors of the fan because there slightly different sizes...
Last Thursday BGmicro still had the panaflos. I placed an order for a few and now almost a week later I still haven't been charged and there not on the site anymore..:(
Looks like I may end up paying double or triple price myself if I decide to still get the panaflo.
Any alternatives, other...
Ok.. I see the 3 pin connectors on my motherboard. I have 3 (3-pin connectors) left. The two fans that came with the case are using 4 pin connectors. One is in the back and one is on the saide panel. I want one more fan in the rear where there is a whole for one already, and one blowing over...
I was looking for a Capture card that I can move some old VHS home movies to my computer for tweaking and then burning to CD or DVD. In the best buy forum their has been a lot of compliments on the Leadtek TV2000XP which is saling for around $60.00 right now. What do you think of this card and...
This is the first time I built a computer and everything has went fine so far thanks to Anandtech. I have a question about the case fans though. I was planning on getting an extra 80mm Panaflo case fan. I went to a few sites and I noticed that they had 3 pin connectors on them. My Antec case...
Is this a good choice for putting old vhs home movies onto cd or dvd? It doesn't have to exactly be professional quality but I want it to be really good as these tapes are very sentimental. If its not then what tv capture card is? Whats the best software to use with vhs tapes and altering...
OK.. I finally figured it out. The white piece unsnaps and rocks to the right. You then put the Video card in and the white piece rocks back and snaps holding the right side of the board down. I had to really push on it to get it to go down far enough to snap it back. Not hard enough to...
The Geforce finally came in today. I was trying to insert it into the AGP port but there seems to be a white plastic piece in the way on one side. Its snapped into the end of the AGP port
What the deal with this? I would try and force it to pop past it (maybe that what I'm suppose to do but...
The card also seems like it is a cm to long. I mean it looks like it would fit. There is a plastic piece at the end of the AGP port that if removed it would probably fit.
Also if it would possible work (temporarily) I have no way to hook up my monitor.
Thanks for the replies
I have a 8RDA+ with a Geforce4 on order. I want to temporary use my Voodoo4 while I get everything set up. The Voodoo4 seems to not fit the AGP port. Is it not compatible?
What are some decent case fans for a SX1040 case. It comes with two in the back already. I want to put one of the ones in the back in the front and buy a new one for the side.
I heard Panaflo was good and quite but Im not sure if thats the right one to buy. If I buy Panaflo or some other...
I just bought a Cheiftec (Chenming) DX-01BD. It came with one fan in the side and one in the back. What fan should I put in the front and other opening in the back?
Also are there any suggestions on filters. Through the front grill it looks like dust could get in and also through the side...
Which Corsair or Samsung memory should I buy for the 8RDA+?
I plan on getting 512 MB of DDR 2700 but I'm not sure what to buy. I've seen several DDR 2700's from both Corsair and Samsung. The motherboard manual says to buy unbuffered, non-ecc 184 pin DIMMS. Corsair even has one with a heat...
I just ordered an 8RDA+. I don't plan on overclocking and I will be using an XP 2100. What memory should I use? I do understand about getting two of the same amount and type memory to take advantage of the duel channels.
Thanks
I'm building two computers and I need help finding a case.
I bought one black Cheiftec DX-01BD which I'm going to put my Antec pp412x into.
For the other case I was going to purchase a CHENMING DX-01BD-420W Turbo Link from Newegg but they have been sold out for over a week and there warehouse...

Thanks, I just ordered the 8RDA+. Now I just have to decide on the memory.
Due to watching money right now I would like to stick with 1 stick of 256.. just for about 2 months.. I can deal with the lag with XP for that long... but I wonder..
What if I put in 256 now and in 2 months buy 2...
I was planning on getting one 512, but I could tweak my budget a bit and just buy one 256 DDR400 right now and get another in a month or so I suppose... The prices may be down a bit to.. in which I could save a little more.
I was about to buy the MSI KT3 Ultra2. Should I spend the extra 30.00 and get the 8RDA+?
My setup will be with a XP 2100
Also while Im asking.. I know if I get the MSI KT3 Iltra2 then I should buy DDR 2700.. What should I get with the 8RDA+. That is if I buy it.
Thanks
Its hard to read Bible after Bible with them all different. Most of them going against the other. Take for example all the Christian Bibles that have came out over the last 100 years. There are hundreds of them. Each and every one including the catholic Bible were taken from the same...
