I can't seem to find any well-working budget PCMCIA cards that support WPA-2.
Linksys' WPC54GS tends to go for $69, which is too much. Any other cards people can reccomend?
SMC's SMCWCB-G has firmware dating back to July of '05 or something.
I had a Panasonic GVR-120u a while ago and it worked somewhat well. I think I fried the insides with a wrong adapter.
I'm looking to buy another low priced $250-$350 Digital Video camera that takes DV tapes.
What are your experiences/ what do you suggest?
Actually, scratch that- the Eltron 2443 is the Orion- which is a smaller version. I reccomend using the 2722 driver. BTW, what software are you using?

You tried v2.5 ? If your printer is a TLP 2642, you should be trying to V5.3.12 driver listed here:
http://www.zebra.com/SD/barcode_driver.htm
The closest printer model to yours was a TLP 2443 (i figure it is better to step down in models instead of up.)
Anyway, let me know if it works...
I'm trying to decide if my ABIT KT&-RAID board is worth the $25 to refurb it through Abit.
I put in a new CPU- an Athlon 1.1Ghz and turn it on- all the fans spin, but no video signal and no Post.
How do I know if the board is dead?
Itunes organized my mp3 library.
I want to make the mp3 folders easy to download in my webserver.
Here is what I'd like to do:
-Show a user the list of folders available:
Artist1
Artist2
Artist3
By clicking on these folders (or a link beside it), a temporary zip file will be made, then...
This is a 65-pin ULTRA WIDE SCSI drive.
From: http://www.mailarchive.ca/lists/comp.periphs.scsi/2001-06/0590.html
How hard would it be to set this up as a RAID?
Anyone here comtemplating this or is SCSI+RAID just too tough to even think about?
My ABIT KT7-RAID was fried when my CPU overheated. The top cpu it supports is an Athlon 1.4ghz- no Athlon XP cpus.
So, I have the option of returning the board to Abit for $25 to be repaired or selling it as is.
What would you do?
I'd like to see posts that have originated in the past day to past week.
I tried to use the advanced search feature but whenever I try to specify a date to show, I get a The page you were accessing requires variables to be passed to it.

Here is the search I try to do...
zepper, thanks for the ideas:
-cpu is seated correctly, fan is plugged in.
-no ram is on mobo- should post, correct?
-drive cable is correct, no bent pins
-this is an old mobo, don't think there is a protection feature.
Thanks though!
Now I am wondering if the old HDD could have shorted and...
Keith, since you are running an FTP server, you need to tell your router to send all FTP requests to your computer. (Insteaf of other computers on your router's network)
Find the ip address for your computer. (use the command IPconfig in a DOS window)
In your router's settings there will be...
Recently accquired an older SIS mobo with a Cyrix chip. I tested it a couple times and it posted, showing ram, etc.
When I hooked up a dead hdd, the mobo still posted and correctly gave me a "Disk Error" msg.
When I plugged in an old 400mb hdd, the mobo wouldn't turn off w/the power switch and...
Most paid wireless lans in coffeeshops/starbucks redirect users upon connection to the wlan.
How would I do this for my lan? I figure it involves sending some sort of command, right? Or maybe when the browser does it's 'autoconfiguration/looks for a proxy', it finds my local proxy, which serves...
Hi Mikie.
1.
I'd suggest trying to ping the router with your desktop machine.
Open a command window and type:
PING 192.168.2.1 [enter]
Change 192.168.2.1 to your router's ip.
If you can't ping your router, check your network settings. Make sure they are set to DHCP.
2. Is the cable good? /...
Is here any way to tell which PCMCIA cards are 16-bit?
I am buying a wifi card for a homeless guy's laptop and the thing looks pretty old, I assume it is 16-bit and thus can't take the newer types of pcmcia adapters.
Any way to tell?
I was going to buy him a usb wifi adapter but then realized...
Nice!
Thanks for the tip, that mobo is about $60.
How do I know if I am getting an overclockable Barton cpu? I remember with old thunderbirds, mulipliers would have to be unlocked, etc. etc.
Is there any articles to check out/ do you reccomend any stores to get a overclockable CPU?
Thanks again!
Did some more research and found the MSI K7N2 Delta-L:
http://sharkeyextreme.com/guides/MVGSBG/article.php/10708_3294771__3
It comes in at about $73, which seems like a good deal.
Any other suggestions?
Can you reccomend a low-priced mobo for overclocking? I'm probably looking at around $70 for the mobo and around $60 for the chip- nothing fancy. However I'd love some advice if you think spending a bit more would mean much faster speeds.
Using it for major multi-tasking (I'll be getting a gig...
I remember with win2k, you weren't allowed to switch mobos with different chipsets.. But a guy at my computer shop found how to replace a mobo with diff onboard chip:
You have to go into hardware settings and change the hdd controllor back to (i believe i was a) 16-bit hdd controller.
With XP...
I've overclocked my last couple computers, but does anyone know of a good overclocking store that sells:
Mobos w/CPU, and already overclocked?
Last I heard (long long ago) PCnut sold good overclocked combos.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I remember a [long] time ago, Anandtech did mobo and videocard reviews and reccomends each 2 weeks/month.
Those are gone, right?
The reason I ask is that this little kid neighbor of mine wants to play CounterStrike [could be another game]. But, right now he has some Celeron and onboard video...
FFactory0x, my brother's laptop does this too.
When I type in a url such as "charlesw.com" it replaces the url like this:
http:///%20charlesw.com
Looks like something is missing with it.
Please let us know if you find a solution. I'll be looking too.
Hi all, I get some errors after my first boot on a Maxtor hdd cloned from my boot drive.
I used MaxBlast 3, went through wizard and told it to duplicate my boot drive unto the Maxtor drive. [new drive is twice as large]
Upon reboot, I get all these truncating errors.
I still have the old...
Bought a 12pk of 1800mAh batts.
Thanks for the tip, I didn't see many other nimh threads.
Thanks.
I wish Anandtech could get a small slice of all our purchases.
Thanks so much pooper!
Here is a little present: Sopah [accent on the last syllable] means poop in a 'bad' way in greek. Learned that tonight and saw your username, thought you would like it.

Here's a tip my friend told me:
he takes a small amount- 15 mg of adderall in the morning.
If I'd never taken meds, I would have never learned HOW to think in an undistracted way. But when I took the meds, I paid really close attention to myself and my brain, so that I could try to 'recreate'...
