Personal choice would be option 3. My older pentium board doesnt support more then 1x AGP. Even in light gaming you will probably want something with a little more power then that. Of course that would depend on the type of gaming you are planning on.

Most hard drive transfer rates are still below the theoretical max of the ATA66 as far as I know. I added a 7200 rpm drive to my old p3 44bx-2 mobo and I noticed a difference for the better.

I've had a soundblaster Live! for a couple of years and it's a great card. The newer ones should be even better. Never had any support or driver issues.
