celeron vs Athlon vs Pentium

what video card for an older system? OR should he forget it?

If he wants to play 3d games and wants to spend around 45-50 dollars, I think Geforce 2 GTS cards are a good value for the money. Has pretty decent performance. Just my opinion. Much better performance than the radeon 7000. Anyways, thats just my opinion. Calvin

I agree with Czar...make sure that the hsf is correctly installed. Thats a common mistake. In the bios, you do have the option to raise the temp at which it shutsoff but becareful. If it is legitimately overheating, you can damage the cpu if you disable it. Also, touch the hsf after it...

Hard drive messed up...90GB data lost???

I had a similar problem. The harddrive was fine but some files became corrupt which stopped me from booting windows properly. I just connected the harddrive to another system as a second hd. The harddrive was still accessible and had all the data I needed. So I transferred the data to the hd...
