Actually the Dimage X and Xi both have 3x optical zoom, whereas the sony u-10 and 20 don't have any optical zoom. the Dimage is very unique in that the zoom lenses are internal in the body versus a motor to control the lenses.

Fixed zoom, means no zoom. In this case, no optical zoom which is what you care about anyways, digital zoom you can do on any computer.
For those who are looking for an equivalent with 3x optical zoom, try the minolta Dimage X, or for the 3MP version, the Xi.

This almost goes in the brag & moan section, but I was able to 4.25% from Sallie Mae. They'll also give another .25% for the direct payment, and another 1% if I pay on-time for 48 payments( yeah 4 years is a long time), but this seems like a great deal to get it down to 3%!!

Works for me, might need to turn off your anti-pop-up software since it opens an acura web page as well as a pop up window to sign up for the free software. Once you fill in the info you they give you a code and a web link to sign up.
