Settings Windows DHCP server as Authoritative

The reason I'm looking for an Authoritative setting, is that I've seen Windows servers stop the dhcp service when something else is also handing out dhcp. Further research I've found states that to get around this there is a registry hack to disable rogue detection...

Settings Windows DHCP server as Authoritative

I am going to be setting up a 2008 server with its main purpose to be a DHCP server to an apartment complex. Right now a Linux server is handling DHCP for the network. In the DHCP settings for the Linux server there is an option to have it announce that it is Authoritative for the scope, which...

Server crashes while installing Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 x64

The 0x0000007b error is a common install error, whether on a server or just a basic computer, if the bios is set to use native SATA settings. The F6 prompt for installing a driver occurs long before the blue screen occurs.

    a-squared Anti-Malware 4.5 for free! Nov.11th

a-squared is slower to do a full scan, but it also reports things others don't, like it will notify you if you would like to remove limewire. I usually do a first scan with super antispyware, and then run a-squared.

Server crashes while installing Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 x64

If you do not find the setting in the bios that tells the SATA hard drive, something like native or compatibility mode, then you may need to come up with a USB floppy drive to do an F6 driver install with the SATA/raid drivers.

    Win XP SP1 to SP3

Media Center 2002 had the prerequisite of needing SP2 first. Release Notes SP3 If you think you will have the need to ever uninstall IE7 or IE8, then you would want to remove either of them first and then install SP3. If SP3 is installed after newer versions of IE, then the newer IE...

Combine 2 hard drives as 1

Gparted should be able to resize the second drive so you can make space at the beginning of it, to then create a partition that would be come the D: drive, though it will be F: to start with. You can copy the data over from the original D: drive. Then you would use Gparted, or whatever...

Program for auditing software installed on computers

    Outlook PST Repair

Is it possible to run an archive on it? I have seen where the 2 gig limit was reached, but an archive completed successfully, and then by running the compact utility, got the file below the 2 gig limit. Hopefully this would work on a 20 gig file. I would also suggest that before you continue...

    Dead motherboard

The simplistic answer would be, yes. You say build a new system. My assumption would have been that you would reuse your existing case to install a new motherboard? I assume the Raptors are sata, so you would not run into the issue of new mobo's not having IDE ports on them for the hard...

    Dead motherboard

You would be able to pull the drives and copy data from them, but actually trying to use Windows itself, is very doubtful. The differences in motherboards make it extremely difficult to pull a hard drive with Windows from one system, and then put it in another expecting it to boot into Windows.
