Best Athlon XP Mb

I was going to go with the Kr7133, but now i see that abit has released the KX7-333R which seems een better casue it uses DDR 333. Is this abits best Athy mobo at this time? Im not sure if the board is avalible though and thats not really a prob since i got a while till i ahe the cash.

Maybe dumb question: Systems reboots when running 3DMark

i dont mean to be mean or anything but you spent that much on a system, why dont you go at least upper midrange on a video card? have you tried not OCing your system and trying it? what version of 3dmark are u running? 2000, or 2001

heres my dilema, i ahve a 900 athy running at 966-1005, (1005 isant great for long time gaming) so i want to upgrade.\ i have a Abit Kt7a, v1.1 Unfortunilty this board dosent offically support AthlongXP, and it find it pointless at this time to buy somthing other than an xp. I know Pauls Abit...

How safe is it to run a ATX power supply without the outside casing?

for a custom enclosure its not really a big deal, jsut use EXTREME caution when u install her. Be carefull, have fun.

wile i think kill is going a little far, its very dangerious. Its extremly easy to shock your self. I've done it a few times, im still standing but beleive me its not a shock you wana take. I dont understand what u mean "messing" with. I've taken a few apart becasue ive mounted them in home...

Any problems with rounded IDE cables?

I've never heard of anyone having a problem with them. But the reason that it "could" casue problem is becasue all thoes wires are used for grounding (somthing like that) between teh data wires. But like i said ive never heard of it beeing a problem

fiberglass case

im interested in learning more about building my own case. I know ive seen a few pics and such but i would like to know all about it. Any help would be appreciated. What i would like to do is build a case for my alarm clock computer, its in a junky old caseand it rather large.

Can someone give me whats bad about Generic Cases?

i agree, its a good idea to go chep if you need to on a 2nd system, especially from parts lying around. Pro: -Most dont have that bad of edges nowadays -They are cheap -Its cheap so you dont mind modding it to fix some airflow Cons: -Metal can be flimsy -PSU's are crap

im kinda divided on teh subject. i can picture teh house of the future with one central "computer" and a bunch of dumb terminals around the house (for teh geeks) and i can aslo picture things like thay are now. Sure your idea sounds good but whatabout when that new graphics processor comes out...

Plugging hs fan into mobo vs psu

i would say its not wirth the risk, its jsut stressing your Mb more then it needs to be. Why dont fan companies figure it out? my HS was nice tho it came with a adapter thing but then it had no lead to go to the mb for rpm's so is sjut kinda made my own. You dont really need to buy an adapter...

my temps are so low

no dude its all in fun, i wasent braging. I was jsut seeing how cold i could get it to go. Im not sure how cold it was in here but its EXTREMLY cold outside and teh window was open. Its jsut cool to see my comp go so low. With the ambient temp so low everyone could have low really low temps, and...

i moved into my new room today, we where hot while we where moving stuff so i opened my window. I got tye comp running and left for awile and it was at 20C idle. So o proped the window open full wayt and sitting here running IE, and aim im getting 17C its sweet. But my legs are cold. Im not...

Pencil trick weirdness

ok so i did teh pencil trick, it worked of course (this isant my first time) but its weird becasue when like i select 7.5 multiplyer it comes back on as like 6.5, its not always just one step sometimes it works right on. I dont understand it..... its a 900 athy BTW

i have a question about running cable outside. I live in South Dakota where it gets cold and hot. Is it possible to run cable outside? its easiest for me to run some of my network outside (along the house) and i was wondering if it would be a problem....

newbie processor screwup

what i still cant figure out is why the @&(*%&^ AMD dosent jsut put extra core "material" around the edges? i know its doneon the celery and prob the p3, ive seen it smashed side on a celery and it still runs casue at least intel is smart enough to put extra "stuff" around...... I wonder what...

Can't see comp on network, but can search for it and find it

New Moniter

To make a long story short i bought a new 17" flat tube moniter today. Its driving me nuts tho!!! its the same size as my old one but its got less of that plastic crap so it seems smaller. Dam thoes marketing people!!!!!!!! Its nice having flat screen tho.......... But it seems smaller...

Duron 750 OC

ok guys' i'd like to OC a duron 750 i ahve but the problem is that the mobo is extremly cheap and im pretty sure its limited to 100 mhz fsb. I havenet tried soft fsb or anthing but is it possible to just switch the bridges till its like a 800 or so?

high performance case fans?

He's right though, you need to replace the deer, i have personal experience and its well worth the costof a new PSU, as for fans im not really sure, come to think of it i need som too, what size is the standard case fan size? I know ColdCpu has lots of fans at a good prices, ya can trust them...

instead of neon lights...

im sure someone has done it...... Your right leds are pretty low power like 1-3 volts (depending) You might need to run a resister but it depends on how many you plan on powering
