My Macbook Pro died last week, so I'm looking for a new one. A Windows one.
I can get these laptops in similar price. But since I cannot try each one, I need help to choose. Especially if you have had hands-on experience between these:
MSI PE60 2QE
i7 5700 HQ - 16GB ddr3 - 2GB GTX 960M - 1TB...
@Cheex
I'm using an E2160 and I can't find the option to change multiplier... so I haven't try OC'ing.
Maybe it's Intel's SpeedStep technology? Try disabling EIST and C1E from BIOS
yeah, that's very interesting. I reset the BIOS via jumper and it still reports 675MHz on the BIOS/POST screen. Another interesting thing is that 2700/4 = 675.
I can't go further from 2700MHz (9 x 300). My RAMs are holding me back.
Yep. I disabled C1E and now CPU-Z and Everest displays 2700MHz. Thanks.
But I'm still curious about that "675MHz (75 x 9.0)" thing on the BIOS/POST screen.....
Guys, here's my setup:
Core2Duo E4300 + abit AB9 Pro (BIOS 1.6)
2 x 512MB Corsair Value (5-5-5-15)
Powercolor Radeon X700 256MB
I set the CPU to 9 x 300 = 2700MHz, but I got different MHz reports from different utilities. Check these screenies.

Say, I work with multiple audio aplications... Cubase, Reason, Rewire-ing, VST plugins, etc. Will the dual core 805 gives me better performance than A64? And no, I don't have the budget for X2.....
Actually, I would recommend M-Audio's Firewire solution such as FW Audiophile, or FW 410 (it stands for 4 inputs/10 outputs).
I use the FW410 for recording and live performance, it's really great.
I believe he's using Maya and AutoCAD for 3D works, and no, I know he can't afford a pro card.
Hmmm... what about those who said that Radeon has better image quality, GF has better rendering quality, etc.?
thanks again.
Stick with it, unless if you want better sound quality -get HTPC cards such as Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1, or if you want better sound effect in games (EAX3/EAX4) -get Audigy card. But basically, nForce Soundstorm is pretty good for common use.
my friend is going to build a new computer, mainly used for video and 2D/3D image editing. But since pro-class graphic cards (such as FireGL or Quadro) are too expensive, what would be the best for him? GF 6xxx or ATI Xxxx? Opinions? And what's the reason for your opinion?
Is there any...
so... basically what's the "best" driver for Radeon cards now? Especially for the 9xxx series
we know that the "old" best drivers were 3.6 and 4.2, what is it now? 5.2? 4.12?
Maybe Terratec Aureon Space, or Aureon Universe... or Audiotrak Prodigy.
Truly, I like those cards with VIA Envy24HT, But I don't know which one is better.... please., help!
well, it's simple: I installed XPSP2, updated some drivers and Nuendo2 stops working..... but I'm not really sure whether it's the cause or not. Anyone know about this??
I'm going to uninstall SP2 soon to check. Any answers appreciated. thanks
How do I remove Zalman northbridge heatsink? I put it on using Zalman's green+orange adhesive material. I tried putting the mobo in the freezer, but it doesn't work....
i know that some ppl with 1gb of ram (or more) set their swapfile to around 50-100megs, just to make windows see that it's there. Beside, some programs won't run without swapfile.
well, it turns off some serveices and windows settings to build up resource. It has a "system Restore" like feature, so if you don't like the changes, you can restore your windows to the original setting.
run it, open Tools > Options > General: uncheck "automatically run when windows start" "automatically login" "allow to work in background" (can't remember the exaxt words) but well... you got the point.
TBSC used to have an IRQ conflict between it's gameport and something in the 8RDA+ boards. I think the latest BIOS (or was it TBSC driver?) resloved the problem...
tried EAC or CDex?
or.. how about analog ripping, by connecting your CD-player line-out to your PC's line-in and then record it with a WAV editor proggie.
