For idle temps it's a little on the high side, but it should be ok. What are your load temps? You should be able to get away with the stock heatsink/fan with good thermal grease.
Thanks guys :)
I knew I was going to be without an internet connection for awhile so I dled DPAD since it doesn't require any work units. That explains the big entry hehe. I usually run FAD, but I will be pursuing this project as well.
No additional fans? Yea I would think that's your problem... With no airflow inside the case, things can heat up.
Using a better thermal grease instead of the stock thermal pad would help your temps a bit.
I just use a razor blade and scrape off the thermal pad.
My name is Jared. I'm 20 years old, and live in Fargo, North Dakota. Here is a pic of my sister and I (it was a little sunny, hah).
I'm currently in school and running Find-A-Drug for the TeAm. 1 Barton at 2.4ghz and 2 1600+'s. I'm trying to convince my dad to run his machine's for FAD, but...
I'll almost guarantee you that you won't be able to lower your voltage (vCore) after raising your FSB to 200. You may even need a voltage bumb to reach 11x200. Nothing to worry about though. Just run it at 11x200 with lowest vcore you can.
I have
2 80mm front intakes
2 80mm rear exausts
1 side intake blowing right over the CPU
1 exaust on the top
2 in the PSU
1 blower on the heatsink
1 7000rpm on the chipset
1 old XP palimino retail heatsink/fan on my 9600 Pro
