    You can't upgrade from XP. You'll have to do a clean install. Win 7 upgrade disk will not install from clean boot. If you have XP, you have to buy full version.

    Thougt I'd chime in.... Just my opinion, but running that low of a resolution on such a large display, you will WANT to have AA COMPLETELY maxed out all the time... or you're going to "notice" a lot of jagged lines. That said, I'd spend the extra dough and get the ATI 4850.

    Depends on your res. Lets have it. As far as Crysis goes, 1680x1050 and up, you'd be looking at ~a 2x frame rate increase. Lower res than that, probably less.

    You're out of your mind. I can't even hear the fan until it as at ~35%. Which is what I run mine at minimum speed. And it is BARELY audible at that speed. Card runs at ~53°C @35% speed.

    The problem you are overlooking though is if you do not MOVE that heat outside the case, it affects the temps of the rest of your components. I don't know about you, but I don't want a heater inside my case below my CPU. Blow that heat out the back of the case man.....:cool:

    Yea, 54c at 35%. I set Tray tools to run at 35% from 50c to 70c... then jump to 42%. But at desktop it runs a cool 54c. Much happier with that. THANKS GUYS! Apoppin - I figured out how to make it load everthing on windows startup via profile.

    Found it. The one web page I was on had the wrong path. \Local Settings\Application Data\ATI\ACE\Profiles Wow... that thing can get LOUD! hehe. I set it to 45% and it cooled it down quite well. I guess with it "manual" though, it won't speed up if I am gaming and it gets hot aye...

    This thing is cooking at 80deg C. The fan on this thing is just idling along. How can I adjust the fan speed on this card to get it a little cooler. Its heating the rest of my case up causing everything else to run hot. Same thing on my HTPC with a 4850. Thanks.

    I'm having a similar issue. My shuts down, but after it goes off, it immediately powers back on. THe only way I can shut it down is hitting the power switch on the power supply. (XP SP3).

    I just bought this MOBO and CPU a few days ago... I got the 4850 though. The Egg had a combo deal on the Board + 4850. $50 off. Got them both for $300. Sweet. OP, if you can spend $500. Look for combo deals on an intel board + C2D or video card. a 4850 is a good card too.
