E8400 vs Q6600 for $200

Yeah I just reserved one at MC and will pick it up on the way home from work. Was going to wait for an E8400, but at the same pricepoint, the Q6600 seems like a better future proof.

Is there a difference between memory manufacturers?

What's are your folks' opinions of G.Skill as a product and as a company? I know anandtech recommended them as the way to go for 2x1GB DDR2 800 but I hear they use something other than micron? I want to OC an E8400 to 4GHz, so 450 FSB at 1:1 -> DDR2 900. I tried some crucial DDR2 800, but was...

It is set to auto, which the manual says equals locked. Though I can try manually specifying it at 100. Though it didn't give me any trouble when I was testing the FSB.

E8400 Stuck Temp = RMA?

The processor seems to be running fine it is faulty temp sensor that concerns me. It had that same problem at stock conditions when I first put it in. Also the temp seems to be 46 idle/52 load under stock or OC conditions, which strikes me as strange.

Out of stock. Also, the VX is the same price as two sticks of the TwinMOS, the good VX chips seem to clock very well. The only cheaper x800xls that I see on the Realtime Price Engine are the Rosewell and Connect3D. They are probably okay, but I didn't really like the looks of their sites...

Hmm... I haven't had any temps appear abnormally high. I don't have a sensor right on the hard drive, but the case temps never get above 44C. The PSU is also pretty new, I got in the Spring and never seemed to have problems with it. Could it be a problem with the mobo or the southbridge?

Is $440 for Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition a good deal?

I would definitely get both and sell one (if that is an option). Do you work for a computer shop or something? Those are great deals, man. Either way you go, you are getting a better deal than most everyone else.
