HP 895Cse install problem XP-Pro sp2

I have tried to install my HP 895Cse under Windows XP Pro with sp2. I receive a failure message. I have followed the microsoft instructions to replace drivers.cab from the install disk. I receive the same error. The windows install itentifies the printer as a 895C and errors with a message...

ATTN: HP Laser Jet GURUS!!!

I have the same problem I think. I need replacement feed rollers at the rear vertical feed. I have found replacement roller kits on the web with instructions for less than $60.00. I have two working printers 1 laser and one ink jet so I haven't bothered.

SP2 basic firewall and Zone alarm

There is at least one reason to continue to use the SP2 firewall. It loads before the TCP/IP stack and controls all inbound traffic. It is unlikely that you will be nailed between the TCP/IP load and the zone alarm load but it could happen.

Windows XP CD?

My experience has been that Dell OS disks look for Dell in the system bios and will not install unless the os disk finds DELL in the bios. Just my 2 cents.

I went to the store today and geez... things look different...

Many local computer stores set their prices very high since many customers do not have a clue that the same product can be purchased on the internet for a small percentage of the asking price. One local computer store is offering a 1400 Athalon for $189.00 and a 1.2 gig Celeron for $129.00...

50 Horror movies on dvd 27.99

I bought the mystery set and the quality is better than I ever saw on late night tv. It does not compair to current dvd releases but the quality is reasonable. If you are interested in 4 or 5 of the movies it is a great deal.

I really screwed up my system - HELP!

I have already corrected the mbr info with the install to the D: drive. Now however I cannot repair the C: install. I will try disconnecting the D: drive, but I don't think that is the problem.

Looking for a top notch 19" CRT (NOT LCD).

If your father is going to use the monitor at low resolution with big icons without glasses it probably does not matter if you get the best or the cheapest. He is not going to see or appreciate super high resolution or super sharpness. He will see everything in soft focus with the edges blurred.

Best AntiVirus program?

AVG is still free for stand alone computers used in the home. Networked computers or business computers require a fee based AVG program. Still a good deal compaired to McGaff of Norton System hog.

When you installed to the 120 gig did you use an full install package or an upgrade package? I have heard that the full install will not upgrade an existing system and that the upgrade will not install without an existing system (at least an install disk for a prior qualifying windows OS).

Help ... problems with two DVD's?

Some DVD drives do not like being master drives, some do not like being slaves. I would suggest that you set up both DVD drives as masters and place them on seperate IDE channels. If this works you will have the fastest possible read write speed from all of your drives. If your system balks...
