Windows Locking Up at Start Up

So far I got it working off the msconfig info and will be trouble shooting from there. I might still re-format windows just to be safe. I appreciate all the helpful advise.

Windows Locking Up at Start Up

Here is where I'm at now: 1 out of every 50 or so reboots lets me reboot and go in normal. I'm in now and have performed a virus scan, system mechanic pro 6 full scan on everything, and have gone onto windows update and updated everything that was listed and everything checks out good...

New System Set Up Problems

The manual says that the hard drive(s) must go on IDE1 "blue", but it doesn't say what goes on the yellow, I guess I just assumed it was the cd-rom drives that went there. If I don't plug them into tIDE2 or IDE3 (which are both yellow), then where do they plug in? I haven't found any other...

Radeon 9600 XT or Radeon 9800 Pro

The 6800 starts at like $350 for the 256mb, which is a lot more than a 9800 pro 256mb since its $270. I'm trying to stay around $250 and dont want to go over $300.

what is my processor??

I got a few older AMD Athlon processors and I can't remember what speeds they are. The only thing I can see is a number printed in one of the corners. I have one that is 27111 and its brown; and one that is 27016 and its grey. Anyone know the speeds? 2000? 1800?

Problems with wireless network, only works wired!

Unfortunatley, When I woke up this morning my computer was again messed up. All the USB items were shut down and a reboot had to be done to get them to come on again. I have turned off the power saving settings in my device manager, bios, and in windows. Still loking for some advice. :|

I checked the power settings in windows and everything was turned off, but when I checked the device manager settings for my usb the box was checked for shutting down the usb to save power. I unchecked it, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks everyone.
