    I guess I should clarify. :) (In my case anyway...) Is the MBP the fastest 15.4" notebook in the 5.6/2.5kg range? I at least want that 1440x900 resolution it has, or 1680x1050 in another make.

    Is there anything in that range, regardless of price? I have like a $3100 limit, but I can't find anything faster than a MBP 15.4 (the weight and thickness are important to me). I've seen some stuff in the same price range as the MBP, but none seem to have better specs.

    P5B Deluxe and AHCI SATA?

    Make sure you have the JMicron drivers installed. Once you do, turn off the PC and plug into the JMicron SATA port. Turn on AHCI for the ICH8 port, and when in Windows, install the Intel Matrix Drivers. Shut down again, plug into the ICH8 port and turn back on. Should boot now.

    I rather doubt it is 1.8v, I imagine they mean it will boot at 1.8v...they aren't known for low-voltage memory. For example, I have some Geil rated for 2.2v, but it still runs at 1.8v - just not in dual channel. Lots of misleading advertising out there...

    So, is CoreTemp correct? It shows 33 or 34C, while the Abit Guru thing shows 47C! :) Regardless, re-applying the paste and all made the Abit program drop from 49C or so to 47. LOL.

    If you're not going to OC, I don't see the point of taking it off. The E6600 I have was idling at 35C w/the stock HSF, and it isn't that loud at all. Nothing like the jet turbines they had on the Pentium Ds...

    I'm not a huge fan of doing stuff like that. lol. I swear the -stock- HSF fan on it idled the thing at 35C, so I obviously did something wrong when I applied AS5 and then put the NT06 on it... Skott, I'll try CoreTemp tonight. :)

    Yeah, it does feel warm if the temp gets up towards 60C, I've not seen it go over like 56C so far. I'll reinstall it again, which is always so much fun. ;) Yeah I can remove the fan, I'll unscrew it and screw it on the other way to blow the air down then. Will know how it all goes...

    Well, I have every single plug for power plugged in on the motherboard now. That ATX4P1 plug is for a molex on the AB9. I also have the main ATX one and the other square plug inserted. So the P5B Deluxe has no issues, eh? Your PS must have a bit more strength in the 12V rails...

    Solved it. I had to also plug a power plug into the ATX4P1 plug on the motherboard. Is this necessary if you have a PSU with stronger 12V rails?

    Solved the 7950 problem, but my Seasonic S12-500 isn't strong enough on the 12V rails (using just the SLI connector) for it. I tried it in an AB9 Pro which has an auxilliary connector to plug power into on the motherboard for the PCIe slot and now it works. Still no more info on the memory...

    Another problem with it is I can run a 7950 GX2 in Multi GPU mode. It just crashes hard (ie, have to push reset) when I run anything 3D. Fine if I turn off Multi-GPU. But, my other 965 board (AB9 Pro) does the same thing... No 1.8v memory at Fry's, so I'll have to order some next week from...

    I don't have the right memory. It won't turn on no matter what I do if I set CPU Frequency above 266. Obviously there is something majorly wrong if I can't even go up 1MHz... Fry's had no 1.8-1.9v DDR2-800 memory at the store I went to, so I'll have to order some online this weekend I guess.
