How's the Aopen 24x burner? (& lite-on)

Hi Moosey, I would highly advise against an Aopen drive. I have had my Aopen 1232a cdrw for about 6 months so far. After burning a number of audio CDs, the drive refused to burn at 12x... using Nero or any similiar program, the drive would at first spin up, and then an error message would...

What do you think? GF4 MX460 faster or GF3 Ti200?

Even thou the geforce 4 mx is only a directx 7 card, its core and ram speeds will definitely make it faster than the geforce 3 ti200.

Has anyone made a successful copy of Diablo 2?

Holycow, when I tried to run a backup copy of Ground Control, which uses securecom, the backup wouldn't work. After installing Daemon Tools, and running the secrecom emulator, it worked fine.

Best 2D card?

From what i've heard the 2d quality of voodoo cards is very good. If you don't plan on doing any 3d gaming you should save your money and either go with a matrox that has a dvi or just keep your voodoo card. you might be able to find a cheap matrox card with dvi on ebay.

volt, u should check out the visiontek gts-v, which is basically an underclocked gts. I heard in most cases u can clock it to normal gts speeds, at which it is superior to the mx. It could be had at newegg.com for about $65.

WIERD cd burner problem. Please Help!

Tex, I have a similar problem with my Aopen 1232a. Sometimes when burning at 12x I get an error message stating that the procedure failed. I could hear the burner spinning up for about 25 seconds and then the message pops up. I've found that reducing the burn speed to 8x fixes this prob...

ATI R300 details out

There are some details of the R300 that have been posted at the Inquirer. According to it the R300 will cost less than the Geforce4 and will be considerably faster. The same goes for the R250 which will go up against the NV17. I'm really not suprised, as the Geforce4 seems to be nothing more...

Beating a dead horse but? 4 MOBO to choose from

Sorry guys but I disagree with you all, best bang for the buck is the .... SOLTEK SL-75DRV2. The MSI underperforms most of the other kt266a mobos out there. The Abit is too expensive at over $140. The Soyo is a good deal since it includes raid and 6channel onboard audio but not everyone needs...

Ti 200 or 8500 OEM/LE ? that is the question.

I don't understand why everyone has so much praise for the 8500. On a number of games, such as Giants and Unreal, the 8500 performs much worse than even the Ti200.

Anyone else hear that TI500 is not going to be produced anymore cause of defects?

Hey Overman, true, most manufacturers are stopping their production of the Ti500, but not because of defects. Production is stopping because the Ti500 was meant to have a short lifespan, within a couple of months it will be replaced by the Geforce4Ti line, which will become the top of the line.
