limit upload bandwidth in linux

Does anybody have something similar for windows? I need to cut a family members internet access at midnight everynight by restricting his IP address, and also if I could restrict bandwidth for the IP address that would be great too.

Performance gain with P4 2.6c & SLK-900U?

What mobo to go with a 2.4c?

Don't base your judgement on getting the P4P800 just because it has ide raid. I've read several reviews and user feedback saying that the performance is horrible when using them, and that they use more CPU resources than they should. Thats what made me just pick up the IS7 and buy a pci ide raid...

Soltek SL-75DRV2...does it rock?

I think i've got my heart set on the Soltek SL-75DRV2 now instead of the EpoX 8kha+. I'll be running a XP 1900+ w/Mushkin 512 mb pc2100 ddr. Anybody have any problems with the soltek? Does it just really kick ass? Thanks for feedback!

Which of these cases is the better choice?

Or you could go for a Antec/Enermax/Chieftech case....because we all know how sexy those cases are, hehe. And you can pick up a chieftech case with no fans for $69 bucks.

Opening up downloaded files in Linux?

KDE is a piece of crap, stay away from that GUI, use Gnome. If your into different desktops, use something like Ximian. Also, try opera, opera is a lot better than Netscape/Mozilla. peace~

I believe there's a way to remove everything at once, and so what if it asks you? There IS the No option. ;) We do this all the time at my school when we create ghost images for when we want to re-ghost computers, and it works flawlessly.

new motherboard

This is what you do, I'm assuming she's running Win98. Right click my computer and go to the area where it shows you all the Compu ter devices. Now remove everything and shut down. Then move the hard drive over to the new comp, and it should re-detect everything. Good luck!

Kingston Ram?

Right now Im trying to find out whats a good quality ram at a decent price. I'm looking at the Kingston PC2100 512 MB DDR Non-ECC Ram at Mwave for $135.00. Is this a decent deal for good ram? What's everyone's experiences with Kingston. Right now i Just have a stick of 128 PC133 ram in this p3...

What VIA266A Mobo to go with?

Thanks for all the feedback. I think as a result I might go with the EpoX 8KHA+. I can order it from MWave for about $100, they have a good RMA policy, and I know the board is one of the fastest VIA266A chipset mobo's out there. I'll just grab a promise controller sometime then. A lot of times...

What VIA266A Mobo to go with?

Thanks for the recommendation, but I haven't read a lot of good experiences with that mobo and people. The EpoX 8KHA+ was the first to have the VIA266A chipset and first isn't always best. Plus isn't Epox releasing a new mobo soon with 2 extra raid controllers? I would preferibly like the 2 raid...
