9800p oem only 207

I wanna know too... every week, I see these "oem saphire radeon 9800 pros" in the newegg refurb sections for like ~$160. very tempted to get one, but after looking at the pictures, theheatsinks seem so flimsy and the enire card just looks to cheap and stripped... can't seem to trust it enough...

anyone OCing a 5900nu? anyone done a BIOS flash?

Any way to remove heatsink from leadtek A350 fx5900 tdh lx?

its an xt. clocked at 300/700 core/mem. I can easily get it up to 425/830 no problem. I just don't like the fact that the back panel covers the lefthand clips of the first two dim slots. If I were to get another stick, I wouldn't be able to clip them in because the only way the vidcard would...

I bought a leadtek fx5900 lx and barely got the bastard to fit into my case due to the bulky aluminum catridge housing. It was hitting pretty close to two of my dimm slots, so I had to move my stick of ddr to the third slot furthest away from the card. Luckily, no capacitors were in the way...

Vantec Tornado

Get a rheobus to keep the noise level down... lower the rpm until you have a nice balance between cooling and noise.... and as for modifying wires to make connectors fit... not recomended but I've done it to connect my tornado to a thermaltake fan controller, which is then hooked to psu through...

Thoroughbred 1700+ Overclockage

Not true at all... I'm running a 1700+ tbred A using kt333 chipset... have it at multiplier 8, with fsb of 190mhz. I have corsair xms3200 c2 ram , which I think is the main factor in determining fsb limitations... I can't go any higher due to locked agp/pci ratio...

geforce 3 ti 200 heatsink removal problem

is the thing connected by spring pins? If so, look on the back of the card behind the GPU and see if there are any plastic brackets portruding around it. If so, use some pliers to press the hooks on the brackets together and push out. If not, then that sucker is probably epoxied on the chip...

is the thermal sensor the flat flexible kind or just a regular resistor? If it is the flat flexible kind (like the one that comes with a TT smartfan II) I taped mine on the side of the bottom copper slab of my AX7 and it seems to run fine.

Yes, I've tried it and it really works. Using an athlon XP 1700+ thoroughbred A. To find out which one you have, look at the defualt core voltage... If it is 1.5, you have t-bred A, if it's 1.6, you have t-bred B. If by the slight chance you think you have a palomino.... I forget.... It all...

I failed in unlocking my AthlonXP!

If all else fails, do the 5-sec mod on the back of your mobo. Easy, cheap, completely reversible, and WAY safer than messing with the cpu. Just make sure you don't short out the wrong pins... linky: 5 sec. mod

Corsair 3200 Ram (which one and how many)?

I heard that if you just use two sticks of regular xms3200 c2, theres a chance that they won't work in c2. You probably one to get the TwinX line with the matching pairs of xms3200 for dual channel mobos... kinda expensive tho, but guaranteed to run at c2...

Garbled screen when upping FSB to 190mhz+

tried it, vcore doesn't seem to make a difference... I just can't seem to get the speed any higher... I tried increasing voltage from 1.5V to 1.7V in .5 V incraments, and it always refuses to post, requiring a reset with the INSERT key held down. The smaller rev. A core just doesn't dissapate...

Well, I can clock it at 1.73ghz at 165mhz FSB with default multiplier of 10.5 at the highest, but then I won't have fast ram.... plus it's unstable with random crashes. Thoroughbred A's are crappy o'cers anyways, need a rev. B in order to get any faster.... probably should invest in a mobo...

ummm, okay, after searching through the bios menus, I can't seem to find any setting to alter the agp/pci ratio.... the closest thing is some AGP direct access value in advanced bios settings, and it says to input some HEX value, and not a number (didn't touch it). How would one change the ratio?

Vantec Tornado 84.1cfm with Thermalright SK-7 WOW!!!

Heh, I'm using a 80mm tornado as a blower and I spliced the wires to a 3 pin molex connector (it had a 4 pin direct to PSU connector before) to connect to a thermaltake fan controller... When placed right over my AX7 at full blast,, my athlonXP 1700+ (o'c to 1.53ghz) runs at a cool 35*C compared...

artic silver 3 and GF3 GPU better than thermal grease?

I dunno why nvidia would reccomend against AS in general, but I used AS3 on my gainward to attach a crystal orb and everything's been peachy... the pins clamp the hsf down nice and tight and I got a 25mhz boost to the 235/520 oc I reach with stock... I guess the only worry is to make sure that...

Is There a Geforce3 Ti??

Geforce 3's weren't marketed under the "Ti" label so I guess the vendor just mislabeled... since it doesn't have heatsinks on the ram, it could be some ghetto-brand geforce3... I know some geforce3's are marketed with just heatsinks over the gpu... no-name brands that is... I'd stay away from...

Rounded IDE cables: difference in quality?

I just bought a rounded ATA133 cable from bestbyte.net, and I noticed that the rubber connector guards kept slipping when I was bending them around my case, exposing the wires... Are all rounded cables like this, or did I just buy the crappy kind? Also, rounded cables are a bitch to bend...
