I have definely confirmed that its a GoZilla 3.5 problem.
Without advert.dll in windows\system then IE works but Golzilla doesn't. With advert.dll then Gozilla works but IE5 doesn't. Yet I know they have both worked together before!

I removed it from c:\windows\system and IE5 now works fine!

The generic drivers should work, UNLESS there are specific drivers for your particular model.

Do you have a INF file for the monitor, or is it set to DEFAULT in the display settings.
Try PLUG AND PLAY monitor to see if that helps.
60 Hz is the default refresh rate that the worst monitors should be able to reach and thats what windows defaults to if it does not recognise the monitor...
Dont delete anything in safe mode.
Go into safe mode and run REGEDIT.
Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and expand.
Delete ENUM key.
Close REGEDIT and reboot.
All the hardware will be re-detected so make sure that any device drivers and Win98 directory are on the HDD.

Do you need a jumper for the HDD in the Toshiba as not all laptops cover all the HDD pins, check to see if you have any spare and stick a jumper on.
Check the toshiba bios to see that the hard disk detection is set to AUTO and not for a fixed disk size.
Finally check for a toshiba bios update.

Another way!
1) Copy the Win98 directory from the CD to a folder on the HDD
2) Start in safe mode command prompt using F8 at startup.
3) Go the the windows directory and delete or rename WIN.COM
4) Run setup from the folder you created and it will do an update!!!
5) Please Please back up...
850Mhz (8.5 x 100) is the highest suported in the last bios.
I dont see why you can't run at 133Mhz successfully, so a 933Mhz should work but I have not tried it. You need to ensure that your graphics card can take an 89Mhz AGP bus speed.

You can also get a patch to make your drive region free, should you wish to do that.
Try reseting the machine a few times once it starts beeping. I have seen this boot error when there is a memory problem. After a few resets the machine I had problems would start and once started it work fine from that point onwards.
No idea why this worked.
PCMCIA cd-rom drives are available widely and work with Toshiba laptops.
The alternative is to try to find a docking station with a cd-rom option but that will be much more expensive

I have used StarTrek Elite Force with a TNT2 and a GeForce 2 MX without any problems, but when I changed to VooDoo 5 it become unplayable due to the text becoming corrupted and the whole game looking horrible.
Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament work fine so I know the problems is with the game...
This may sound weird but try ibmatasw.exe from the IBM website and lower the ATA Specification to Ultra66 or even Ultra33 to see if that has any effect.
