Mobo not supplying full 5V rail - 3d games crashing!!

I'm starting to think its the RAM after all. I tried it with one stick and the 5V went up to 4.83V (stable in all games). Then put both sticks in, but reduced RAM timings to CAS3 (from CAS2). Now running at 4.83V easily enough. Both RAM sticks operate fine on their own, so could something on...

R9700 - Need Multimedia Center 7.8 for DVD player!

I bought a Sapphire R9700 Pro here in the UK, but it doesn't seem to come with the ATI DVD player. Instead it comes with Power DVD XP which apparently is nowhere near as good. So does anyone know if you can download this for the R9700? I believe what is required is ATI Multimedia center 7.8...

I'm on 60Hz (I'm using an 18" Samsung 181T LCD). I'm sure you can get more than 60fps with Vsync off.. I bench around 90fps in RTCW at 1280x1024.

SIS 648 motherboards?

When will the GF4 be out?

Unlikely, i'd expect preview samples around late Feb, with the cards on sale mid/late March. Darn, same time as Xbox released in the UK. What to get? A compact PC with a GF3 onboard to play the latest games, or a new GF4 to play.....urm.... any ideas?

In the Hard OCP review of the Asus A7V266, they got the FSB to 160 / 320DDR so are you sure you're not thinking of the A7A266? OcUK (where i'm buying my mobo from), have had excellent results from it too

Do you mean a dual T-bird mobo? That i don't know What i do know is that the Asus A7V266 has full official Palomino support. So that would be fine. They're available in the UK now, not sure about the US though

AMD - how long till something better than 1.4Ghz?

3dmark2001 and 7.52 drivers - help!

At last i've solved it! Couple of days earlier i had set in the BIOS to reserve IRQ 5 for the soundcard, and afterwards i forgot to cancel this in the BIOS. Ever since then this has somehow boRked out D3d. :)

I checked out some other forums and everyone seemed to think that the 7.52 nvidia drivers were best. They didn't make any difference for me in Win98SE, but when i tried them in Win2k they sure did! My 3dMark2001 score has gone up from 1903 to 2491 now. Still short of W98SE's 2652 but a lot...

Is there a Problem running Direct3D under Win2k with this config?

Thats why i uninstalled Windows 2000, its great for OpenGL but piss poor for Direct 3D. I don't see why its so hard to make Direct X work in Win2k.

266 T-bird in a 200 Asus A7V?

I know that the T-bird won't run at 133, but can i run the 266 T-bird at 200? Or does it have to run on a 133 chipset? Although i've just realised i would have to change the multiplier. i.e. to get a 133 1.2Ghz T-bird to run at 100 1.2Ghz, i would have to change the multiplier from 9x to 12x...
