i want to use my college internet connection to vpn to my house to use my home internet connection

the dc++ servers that we can use on campus are INTERNAL. as in, they are run by people on campus and accessible only by people on campus, using no bandwidth going out of or coming into campus. they are LAN only. i have never heard of the admins allowing people to use off-campus file-sharing...

at my college, certain ports are blocked to disallow xbox live / bittorrent / other things of the sort. i do believe that they do not block me from connecting to an outside vpn server, however... so, i would like to use my internet connection at school to vpn home and use my home internet...

bittorrent at college

here i am, in my college dormroom at UB, trying to get bittorrent to download me a file. i can find peers and seeds just fine, but it won't download at all. it says downloading (at 0 kbps). the client i am using is azureus, so that i can pick the tcp port to use. i figured that might help me...

help me! my front speaker jack died.

ps... i have an fm transmitter and i don't like it at all... that's y i will prolly opt for the aiwa deck sometime. i wuv my ipod. :D

hey... aiwa makes car decks that have auxilliary headphone jack (1/8") inputs right on the front. you could plug an ipod into one of those with no sound quality loss. hmm, not sure if u wanna buy an aiwa deck and an ipod tho... that'd be a little pricey. just my 2 cents.

is it just me or is futurama wayyyyy better than king of the hill?

check out these sweet barebones systems and cases!!!

Budget 80mm SocketA/Socket370 heatsink at Newegg (SVC's "GC-68")

i have two pc's with the svc gc-68 hsf's on em... and man, oh man are they quiet!!! my xp1700+ runs at like 45 celcius and my xp1600+ runs at like 43 celcius (normal load temps.). of course, both pc's each have one case fan too... rear exhaust fan. that is important to remove heat buildup...

fastest radeon 8500 out there when oc'ed... uses bga ram with ramsinks. u might be able to hit something like 320 / 640, bringing it that much closer to a gf4 ti4200 (performance-wise).

my friend just swapped bezels and trays with me so now i have his lite-on (52x cd-rom) black bezel and tray on my creative labs 16x dvd, and he now has a beige 52x drive. turns out they were the exact same bezel and tray, just different colors. he wanted beige for his foxconn case anyway...

cpu cooling for 1700xp-help

for a cheaper, quiet 80mm heatsink, try the svc gc68... available at svcompucycle.com. it's got pretty good performance and it's VERY quiet. i'm sure you can find plenty of topics about how great it is here on anand. hope this helps.
