The reason people don't take public tranportation is because it's not convenient and takes alot more time than driving in many cases. In the Bay area, it could take 20-30 minutes to drive to work and 90 minutes to take public transportation to the same location. Why would people do that if...

Difference between 90nm and 0.13um Athlon 64???

Is it really worth getting the 90nm Athlon 64 vs. the 0.13 um? Is the power requirements/temp much lower with the 90 nm? Are there any other differences? Thanks for your help. Jason

Help me silence my PC

I bought a "flower" cooler for my P4 2.0A which allows me to run at low rpm with the included fan. I was also able to disable the fan on my chipset (which was very loud!) since the CPU fan cools that as well. Flower cooler I also now have a Maxtor diamondmax plus which rounds things out...

quiet cpu fans?

I just installed a Zalman flower cooler (Al-Cu) on my Pentium 4 2.0A and it works great in silence mode (20 db) at ~1600 RPM. The RPM are correctly reported in my bios (Gigabyte GA-8IEXP). Jason

Has anyone here bought the Lian-Li PC-60 USB B case at newegg.com? How quiet are all 4 fans at full speed?

If your quest is a "quiet PC", you will be disappointed with the fans included in the case. They may not even be necessary! Many people say that just one exhaust fan is enough for most people. I was surprised how loud these fans were and eventually turned all of them off. I have a Zantac...

Yes, I agree with most people's comments. Also, why are they doing almost all "celebrity" shows?! I think that if they screened "normal" people carefully, there would be alot more money won. The best show was the "Star Trek" show when Levar Burton wins like $160,000. That's the way it should...

Processor upgrade in BH6 motherboard

I'm using a FC-PGA PIII 900 (100 Mhz) without a problem on an Abit slotket III in a BH-6 Rev. 1.0. If I was upgrading now I would get the powerleap adapter with the celeron 1.2 GHz. Powerleap Celeron 1.2 GHz That seems best if you don't want to change motherboards. Jason

Dell Inspiron 4100 vs. Compaq Presario 1720us

You don't get a copy of windows with compaq (or dell probably). Just a restore disk. One thing to mention is that the compaq has much better built-in sound then the dell. I seen both and the dell sound s*cks! That may or may not be important to you. I think the compaq is well made though...

Fellowship of the Ring Question (spoilers)

Actually, the eagles weren't as large as portrayed in the movie. In the book, the eagles could only carry people for rather short distances. This is specifically addressed in the book when Gandalf is rescued. The eagle takes him to Rohan which isn't far from Isengard. Jason

Saw the Harry Potter Movie

Upgrading with an Abit BH6 - Question

I have a BH-6 1.0X running on SS bios with a PIII 900 (100 MHz bus) with an abit slotketIII. It runs very well. I would recommend something with a 100 MHz bus like the Celeron 800 or higher, if you want something really cheap. Otherewise, you could get a PIII. Just make sure it's the 100 MHz...
