I just want to make sure I'm reading the IRS documentation correctly ...
for the first time, our AGI is around $154K and I have a 403b.. my wife joined her 403b for one month (december). Because of this, it seems like the documentation and tax software are saying that we cannot deduct any...
Good post - I have an ECS Nforce 3-A which uses ddr400 pc3200 memory and is not listed on Crucial's compatibility list for their Ballistix memory. Is it possible to take a pc4000 ddr500 stick (which also runs at pc3200 and lower) and adjust it to force it to work in the mobo?
so you've put exams under lifeteime learning credits? a medical board exam is a personal expense, not associated with the university. Please let me know where your CPA puts exam expenses since I'm paying ~$1300 on my exam.
Along a similar line, my wife pays for attending an educational...
I'm a first time home buyer (11/2008) and have planned to take out the $7500 tax credit. However, I'm hearing different things about what will happen with this program depending on Obama's economic stimulus plans.
What do you think? Should I take it and be prepared to pay $500 per year for...
Great thread - I searched for my question but couldn't really find a definite answer.
My wife has been a graduate student so she gets a stipend of ~20K per year and her tuition is waived (how much it costs, I do not know). She's been in school for 3 years but apparently, this is the first...
seems like the HD is irreversibly messed up in one of the sectors from what testdisk tells me. the software taht comes with fujitsu does not even recognize the HD...
i have a bootable XP install disk. it goes straight to copying files like the normal routine, reboots, loads the drivers, then does the BSOD. There is no option to delete partitions ...
how would i do that? my bios is pretty crappy and won't let me format from there. pqmagict won't let me see the drives as it keeps saying partition table messed up ... and I do not have a way of connecting this HD in another computer as I don't have the SATA connector for notebook HD. thanks
bump. still cannot access recovery console.
for some reason, I can install windows 98 on that partition (though hp has no drivers for network/USB/anything for win98 so I have no way of getting partition magic on there); but trying to install win2000 / xp keeps stopping on the restart after...
actually, I cannot use the recovery console because it says "no hd found" and forces me to press f3. I already tried fdisk /mbr but i'll give fixmbr a try... however, it is the entire partition table that is messed up. and I have no way of accessing the recovery partition as I did not get any...
Bought a new laptop which had two NTFS partitions - first with vista, second with an OEM recovery version. Formatted the first partition without any problem, proceeded to install XP which copied files appropriately but BSOD in the middle. Repeated process several times to no avail. Ran partition...
true, I don't want to mess with an adapter anyway so I guess I'll try 750mhz. When you say older model, what do you mean? ppga vs ppga2? in that case, I was wondering what the fastest ppga was so I'll be able to put a listing in FS/FT :)
It is my mother's computer so as long as it runs win2k...
it has a socket 370 celeron 500mhz right now, takes 66/100 mhz socket 370 ppga & coppermine p3's. What is the highest that I can go up on this? Thanks!
I'm not a hardcore gamer though I do tend to play games from time to time, however, most of my work is photoshop and usual internet/email/msword. Have a sempron 3100+ / ecs nforce3 mobo. looking for a budget agp4x/8x video card (preferably nvidia?) to go with it. Need some ideas for budget video...
basically, i have my setup working right now. i am about to replace my mobo and cpu only with the HD having xp and all the programs. I dont' want to reinstall everything and would like XP to just detect the new cpu and other hardware (including new onboard video card). whats the best way of...
just tried cdmage - does not recognize it due to truncation or something with cue file
winrar only gives me a readme file which says the iso is to be read by UDF or something like that.
magicISO was fine and extracted everything except the 3 gig single install file (install.wim i think)
problem is, magic ISO and isobuster and all those out there are shareware and will not extract that one huge file within vista's ISO. and I do not have nero unfortunately.. any ideas? much appreciated.
my laptop died and the warranty is long over. i have a feeling something short-circuited on the mobo as it no longer starts up.. the power light comes on then goes off after a second when i try to turn it on. I'm not definite though .. bought the laptop for $500 and the replacement motherboard...
how do these mobos compare with asus k8n or MSI k8ngm2-nbp? someone's offering me the k8n.. thanks to all of you for your advice. really helped me out.
