    120GB IBM 7200 RPM in a stripped RAID set in main machine. 2 x 45GB IBM 7200 RPM, waiting for additional hardware for new PC. 20GB Maxtor 7200 RPM in junk machine.

    It could. Kinda depends on the individual machine and its exact use. -does it have SP1 loaded -does it get rebooted regularly or is it put to sleep or hibernate -does it have shareware programs on it (kazaa) 256Mb is suffice for XP in most situations. 512Mb is nice, but not necessary...

    XP runs fine with 128Mb RAM, and great with 256Mb, unless you have several users logged on simultaneously. 256-512Mb is suffice for most applications. ~skiznots

    What operating systems have you successfully used under VMWare?

    When I was first introduced to VM Ware, I actually had a machine running Win. XP with VM Ware Win '95, '98, NT, 2000 Pro, and Red Hat 7.3 machines running on it all at once. I don't really know why I did it. I guess just because I could, and I thought it was pretty cool. ~skiznots

    replacing PCB on IDE HDD? Expert data recovery advice pls.

    I've seen the PCB swapped successfully from a working drive to an exact non-working duplicate, however never done it myself. I expect this does not apply to all models, and some would not take. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. ~skiznots

    I love my Asus a7v266-e. Don?t know that I would leap to calling it the best board ever produced, but mine has worked flawlessly. I think my north bridge HSF is fixing to go out though. I?m really leaning towards the Epox ep-mvp3g5. That was an awesome board. ~skiznots
