What cable do I need for SCSI U160?

I'm going to guess the cable I'm using is LVD Terminated Ultra2 (40MB/s). If a cable is SCSI3, does this mean it's U160 or U320?

Computer wont even get to BIOS

Best budget CDRW

AOpen, MSI, Sony and Philips 52x drives are all less than the Lite-On 52x. LG, Samsung, Mitsumi and Asus aren't too much more. The Plextor 48x is £56 whereas the Lite-On 52x is £34.50. The Plextor 52x is £105.

Best budget CDRW

I've been using a 16x Plextor since it came out and I loved it but I gave it to my mum so that I could get a bit more speed (it can get tedious burning 10 CDs at 5 minutes each). But I can't decide what drive to get. Ideally I'd love another Plextor but I'd rather keep the money for something...

TV Out on 8500 - aspect ratio and refresh rate of outputted video

I have a PAL tv and the output from my 8500LE is 1024x768 at 30Hz interlaced. This doesn't result in a 4:3 output though, it has tiny little borders at the top and bottom which I think are the source of the problems. If I play a 4:3 video on the tv it has small black borders on the sides...

I've been using a 3 metre composite cable that came with a GF4 until today when I got a Belkin 5 metre one on a UK PAL tv. On the 3 metre cable it wouldn't properly detect the tv and would just do 640x480 at 60Hz and as long as I left it as that it would fit the tv screen. Now on the 5 metre...

Refresh rate fixing on 8500LE

ReForce worked fine on my GF2 but only the desktop with the 8500LE but Rage Tweak fixed it all. I enabled 1280x960 in Powerstrip but my monitor wouldn't do it. My monitor is really fussy with 1280x960. On my G400 I had to turn down to 800x600 before going up to 1280x960, on my GF2 it worked...

Right I'm getting the Hercules. Worst case is it's 250/200 exactly like the Sapphire and Connect3D, best case it's 250/250. Either way it's the cheapest anyway.

What is "updated" in the 9100 over the 8500LEs? EDIT: I think I might go with the Hercules 8500LE 128MB. I can only find it on dabs.com so I'm going to take a gamble and assume that they're old stock (old 250/250 cards) still lying about.

And the GF3. This is one thing persuading me towards the FX5200. Nvidia are likely to get more out of it once the drivers are good, ATI not so much with the 8500/9100 since that core has already had its run and tweaking done.

A possibility I could think of is that it might detect it as a 2000+ and set everything up accordingly. But if the multiplier is locked how can the mobo underclock it? So in escense the bios says 2000+, it performs at 2100+. But saying that what could happen if a bios says 12.5 and it really is...
