"Yooper" is a term made up for those of us that are nuts enough to live in the U.P. (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan. :) But thanks for trying!
I'm guessing at this point that the post is lost. Too bad. It had a lot of parts that I could have used, including some exclusive to the...
Yeah, tried that. Couldn't find anything.
This is the only scrap of the ad I could get from simply googling the address for the original ad:
"For sale, parts vehicle only. Willing to sell whole or part out. This is a 2003 Grand Cherokee Overland model. The back half of the unibody"
I know, I know... This seems rather trivial. But I recently purchased an older Jeep Cherokee and the next day went to send a message to a guy that had one available for parts that I had seen the week before. Unfortunately for me, the post had just expired and I've been unable to figure out a...
Been pretty busy with work (60-90 hours/week) and have barely had any time or energy to hit the gym. But I've managed at least one workout a week just to maintain. Down to 209 lbs. Hopefully by October my schedule will slow down and I can get back to 3 days a week.
June update. Down to 212 lbs. Still trying to work out three days a week, but occasionally I can only squeeze in two due to my work schedule. I'm giving my knee one more week to heal up and then I'm going to add squats, leg lifts and calf raises back in and see how it does. If my knee still...
Time for my beginning of May update. I am still lifting three times a week, but cardio has been sporadic. I am doing 10 minutes on the treadmill at a fast walking pace as a warmup and have started doing 10 minutes of elliptical at a moderate resistance setting as a cool down afterwards. I...
Damn... That's quite an accomplishment. You must have been lifting for a number of years now to have that low of BF at 225 lbs. I doubt that's even attainable for me at this point in my life.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Oh, I am definitely going to attempt to keep working out through the summer. I'm just not looking forward to having to get up at 4:00 AM to do it. :P I keep my gym bag on the passenger's seat in my car. I joined a gym that is between my home and my office so that I would have to drive past...
A good suggestion, but I doubt I could fit it into my schedule. I am a construction inspector and generally work 60-70 hours a week during late spring, summer, fall and early winter. Basically, all the prime times for runs. And my off hours during this time are generally filled with catching...
Yeah, I know I wasn't actually anywhere near being truly obese. I just used it as the final straw to push me back into the gym and start eating healthy again. I'd been unhappy with my weight for awhile and needed that extra little prod to actually get started.
And my weight has finally...
Well, I've added two sets of tricep extensions and ab machine/weighted crunches to my routine as it seemed those were two areas that were lacking. And I finished my first five week round of AllPro's workout! I was able to bump up my squat, bench, curls, RDL and calf raises by 10% for the next...
I was going to give an update next week, but I guess I'll do it now. :)
So far, doing pretty good. I've been sticking with my M-W-F workouts and only missed one so far due to training for work. I've slightly increased my calorie intake to around 1400-1600 calories a day to help account for...
I have a hard time believing that it's possible to eat healthy and somehow drop 40 lbs in 6 weeks. That over 6.5 lbs/week. I've been on 1200-1400 calories/day for two months now and have lost 20 lbs. That's 2.5 lbs/week which is still considered on the high side for weight loss.
Since...
That's pretty much what I'm going to have to do, I think. I added a scoop of unflavored protein powder to some whole grain oatmeal this morning. That was good for 30g of protein. My lunch usually consists of a microwave frozen meal (20-25g). And dinner will be some sort of fish/chicken for...
Thanks for all the advice!
pauldun170 - I agree with your thoughts on both the warmup and the barbell for curls. I will alternate db curls/hammer curls in place of the barbell curl.
mike8675309 - I will alternate some weighted decline crunches and knee lifts to work the abs a bit...
Thanks guys. A lot of good suggestions here. To answer some of the questions, it has probably been 6-7 years since I last lifted. Which is why I am treating myself as a total beginner again. I am more than willing to start with a bare bar if it means I get good form and don't push my body...
Hey all,
About five weeks ago, I took a long look in the mirror and realized that I'm 50 years old, 6' 2" and F-A-T. I was 237 lbs and for the first time in my life, my BMI slid into the Obese category. Now I realize that BMI doesn't take muscle mass into account, but it was still a helluva...
Maybe something like this? $241 at Newegg.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129274
Visiontek Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR5 6M (6 x Mini DP), 900614
edit - N/M. It appears to support up to WQXGA (2560x1600), not 4K (3840x2160). Although the documentation for the card...
Well, we were able to connect a laptop to the Anycast as well and stream video clips. There was some occasional buffering, but it might have been due to the laptop being slow. I'll try a different laptop in a few weeks when I'm back onsite. All said, for under $20 it does great as the only...
While researching this problem, I came across a cheap device called the Anycast M2 Plus.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XYJPVR1
I dismissed it since it was under $20 and assumed it was just a ripoff joke that wouldn't work at all. After not being able to find ANYTHING else that could...
I'm a bit mystified as to why I can't seem to find an all-in-one wireless dongle that covers Windows, Android and Apple. I assumed that someone would have offered one by now. It would be perfectly suited for conference rooms equipped with large monitors or a projector. Anybody needing to...
I'm looking for a cheap HDMI device to wirelessly mirror screens and stream from Windows laptops, Android phone/tablets and Apple phones/tablets to a television. There won't be any internet connectivity where this device will be set up, so I don't really care about built-in apps on the dongle...
Jen-Hsun didn't even blink when he unveiled the $1,200.00 Titan X last year. Can you imagine what Nvidia will ask for a high end Volta card if he's already saying the cost will be "quite extraordinary"?!?
It's things like this that make me glad that my gaming ego doesn't control my wallet.
Someone else like.... AnandTech video card reviews perhaps?
2009 - AnandTech HD 5870 Review - "Let’s be clear here: the 5870 is the single fastest single-GPU card we have tested, by a wide margin."
2012 - AnandTech HD 7970 GHz Edition Review - "The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition isn’t quite fast...
Well, that graph you posted was from this past summer, about the same time frame as the link I provided about high Nvidia multi-monitor power consumption. Hopefully driver updates will have fixed both issues by now.
I honestly couldn't care less if AMD ever puts out a $700+ video card because it's unlikely that I'd ever spend that much. As long as they keep putting out performance/midrange cards at a good price, they'll keep getting my money.
Oh, I agree. I was just mentioning that using electricity costs as a reason to get one card over another is usually a moot point. It's such a small difference for the time that you're actually gaming that it's worthless to consider.
I'd say the 8GB 1330 MHz PowerColor Red Devil RX480 for $200 AR is an excellent deal. Certainly better than any 1060 you can find while being just as fast. And it has more VRAM than any 1060. I have that exact same card in my computer and I'm totally satisfied with it. Triple fan cooler is...
Actually, it was the 9500 non-Pro with the memory placed in an "L" configuration on the PCB. The 9500 Pro wasn't unlockable. I think I still have mine in my 'spare video cards box' in the basement.
