a lady said the call center that takes orders suffered water damage and they wouldnt be up and running til monday at the earliest :(

I'm looking on newegg.com right now and I see a $98 bulk 8500LE, which I guess is the "$99" people in this thread are talking about.
Then there's a $99 OEM 8500LE, which I guess was the "$112" that was discussed. So looks like newegg dropped the price....
So now that there's only a $1 spread...
actually, the rebate details say you only have to send in a copy of the upc code:

hmm..
if you go search for apex brand dvd players, you'll get the correct $50 rebate link.
but, the small print on the rebate says that the $50 off is only for internet purchases.
the rebate is to match the price of the dvd player at the B&M.
so, you should be able to walk into the store and get...
