Celeron-A Mobo W/audio? Recommendations Please!

The TUSL2 has audio and video, but the video portion says that it has LCDTV output. Can that be used for normal TV with an adapter or just LCD? This would be perfect if that output will work as a TV out.

Northwood Heatsinks

My P4 (@2.5) also idles at 28C(load 45C), but I have ~200CFM of case flow. It idles about 32-33C (load 52C) with a single case fan running.

I'm not really an AMD fan, but AMD fan or not, you can't deny that the PR rating was a good idea on their part. The Athlon deserved the PR ratings it has when the only CPU for comparison is a P3/P4(as long as the PR is accurate). AMD would have looked really bad had they kept the old real Mhz...

OMG! my old t-bird beats my new p4

The whole comparison was poopooed from the very beginning. SIS, diff vid cards, diff HDDs, diff ram amounts. And could you share some numbers behind your "6 times as long" statement? Booster...Got any more of whatever you've been smoking?

Strange voltage behavior....

The 12V rail powers all fans, HDDs, CD/DVD/RW, and CPU(P4 atleast). I think only the spindle motors and head servos in the drives pull from the 12V. I don't think there is any way that our 12V rail is really as low as what's being reported by MBM. I'll have to check my 12V in BIOS, not sure...

The slight voltage flux everyone is seeing is unfixable, no PSU has a perfectly constant output 24/7. Maybe an inherent trait of the 845D, or poopooed hardware monitoring(asus P4B266), but I was seeing extremely low 12V readings, like 10.8-11.2V on the + rail, and 11.5V was normal on the -...

*FIXED* Would extra cooling on the northbridge help overclocking? *FIXED*

If the Northbridge was blazing hot I'm sure it would have an impact on operation, but they don't procude much heat. The stock Epox HSF should be more than enough. Hell, I don't even have a fan on mine, just a HS, and it runs at 156fsb 24/7. Granted, you can't directly compare VIA to Intel...

Should I go for Intel or AMD?

Grab a P4, you won't regret it. I considered an AMD1800+ when I was upgrading a few months ago, till I saw how sweet the 1.6A's are. Currently: Asus P4B266 P4 1.6A @ 2.5Ghz, 1.6V - STOCK HSF W/AS3 - Idle 28C, Load 45C 256MB Crucial PC2100 @ 312Mhz 2-2-2-5 I'm very happy with this board...

Blech, ordered an Antec True Power & got a regular Antec instead...

I just grabbed a True550 about a week ago from Provantage. It makes LESS noise that my old Antec 300W. You can never have to big of a PSU:) Better to have more than enough than to be short.

How Do I Remove Thermal Pad "Gunk" From XP1800 Dye?

OOPs is also great for removing thermal pad gunk. No matter what you use to get it off, go behind with Alcohol like Shanti said.

1.5Willie goes 1.95Ghz-the whole story....

That's awesome for a Willy! :) I'm assuming that your running your benchmarks and then rebooting and checking the temp in BIOS, but temps could drop 4-5C durring that time. Use MBM5 and watch your temps from within windows, much more accurate.

Help, can't stablize my oc 1.6a nw+ ga-i8rxp + corsair xms pc2700

You could try dropping your mem timings to 3-3-3-6 and see how Sandra acts. Even better, run memtest86 and see if you get any errors, memtest is pretty much the final word for testing memory stability IMO. Barrow a stick of DDR from a friend and try it if you can.

Have I hit a brick wall with my 1.6a and P4S333?

From everything I've read/heard, and my own experiences, I feel the P4B266 (or P4B266-C) is the best mobo for getting every last Mhz out of a P4. I won't be surprised at all if you come back here to report that you hit 150+ with one/both of your chips. Good luck:)

Duke.. Yes, I'm very happy with my P4:) Again a yes, I'd much rather have the heat spreader than a tiny, bare core any day. IMO, I think you'd be able to tell the difference between a XP1800 and a P4 2.4. Games today are happy with a XP1800, so probably not a huge difference in that area, but...

Yep, they are correct. Going from 2.5 down to 2 won't make much difference. You see benchmarks increase when you go from like 3-3-3-6 to 2-2-2-5. Kazanjig..... Those sandra scores are lookin good man, (drool) 2700/2700. Maybe that 533 bios aint to great for the 333 board.

I just downloaded the manual for your board, it shows your options as 1:1, 3:4, and 3:5. (where did you get 4:6 from?) Setting it at 3:4 ( FSB x 4/3) would be ideal if it'll let you at 150fsb (ddr=400Mhz), and if your memory can take it. You may have to bump the dram voltage upto 2.6V to run at...

When you say 4:6 ( or 2/3 :) ) I assume that your running your memory at 2/3 of 150fsb, which is 100(ddr, so 2x100) and you should be at 166 (333) or higher. First see what options you have available while running at 150fsb. If your only options are the 4:6 your at now and 1:1, switch to 1:1...
