You can make things cheaper but imo your cutting corners which will only make you unhappy with your plane.

well, couple things on OS X that are always installed but they may be turned off. WebDAV, appletalk (hahah thats gonna be off) TCP/IP file sharing, there is a webserver (apache) installed as well, and SSH is installed on it as well. Chances are all this stuff is off though. Bastards.

get what you can afford. easiest...half ok sounding bass tube would work fine if your not a audiophile....get a amp to drive it too. nothings worse than weak systems.

cheapest car to go fast is gonna be a domestic. Imports typically cost more on a power to price ratio. Looks like a mustang or firebird for you.
There are some imports out there that are pretty quick for under 10k, but since your asking this question I don't think you would have the patience to...
