    Thanks for the info Peter the LSI 53C875 was in Win XP, still can't figure out that 2940uw though. I have a 19160, but haven't tried that one yet. I also have a K7T Master-S that has an adaptec u160 on it, and it works without a hitch.

    Again thanks for the help. I put in and older diamond fireport entered the bios to enable the cdrom to be bootable, and it worked straight away. Only problem is that when I got into XP it wouldn't load a driver for it, so it doesn't work once I hit XP.

    Thanks for the info, the scsi cdroms I have are newer versions, plextor 40x and a toshiba 40x I think. The two cards I have available to me are the adaptec 2940uw, and an adaptec 19160 ultra 160. Does the motherboard have to have an option to boot to scsi cdrom, or just for scsi?

    I just received an ati aiw 7500, it is going to replace an older 32mb radeon. My question.. is there a proper procedure to install the new drivers for this card? Also which driver set is the best for this card? I am dual booting into win98 and xp. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    It works fine on the IDE2 on the motherboard. Tried all the slots that didn't change anything except irq allocation, its on its own irq at them moment. The cd drives won't work on properly when placed on the ata card though. Tried an older promise ata66 card with the same results. I give up...

    Only win98se is installed. I have the original hard drive on the mainboard IDE1 a dvd and cdrw on the mainboard IDE2. The new hard drive is partition into 2 equal partitions, and is sitting on the ata133 card on IDE1, neither of the partitons were made active.

    I tried high quality infineon ram and crucial, as well as some micron ddr ram, all produced errors. I also had problems burning cds, and a lot of lockups.

    Hi all, I received an email msg asking me to check if I had a file named Sulfnbk.exe on my hard drive, and if I found to delete it because it was a virus. Has anyone heard about this, or is it false? I do have the file, and I ran norton on it without it detecting anything. TIA
