Stupid question about ECC...?

My box has ecc registered 2100 DDR ram, but when I was poking around my bios I noticed that ECC wasn't turned on. Should this be turned on? I've heard this uses up of some cpu performance. Thanks, Laurence

Help!? Asus V9560 causing Havoc....

AMD cpu fans OKAY?

Wow... thanks for all the response. If it helps... I'm using Tyan's System Monitor software to test the temp - so I'm hoping that it is accurate (it asks for my specific MB model). HWmonitor allows you to choose Thermistor or Diode, the thermistor reading is 70 or so, but the diode reading...

AMD cpu fans OKAY?

I have a dual AMD Athlon MP 1600 system, with the retail CPU and bunled fan/sink. Is this the best cpu fan I can get? I'm finding both fans awful loud and they aren't doing the best job of cooling my machine - at bad times cpu temps can get up to 54. Is there a better heatsink-fan then the...

Installing a new fans... Help?

I am installing new CPU fans in my dual Athlon MP/Tyan tiger PC... and I am new to the process - I've installed cheapo fans on my old pentium 2 - but upon openning my case - the Athlons seem to work differently. My reasons for installing the new fans are excessive noise - one of the cpu fans...

Fans too loud!

Thanks for all the assistance! I just have a couple more questions... Will replaceing the powersupply fan void its warranty? Is replacing the CPU fan very tricky... i've replaced older fans on cpus no problem, my dual AMD's look far more complicated. Thanks again, Laurence
