the sst-659 is a very cool remote! it took me 30 minutes to program all my gears into it which is a relief. and i don't have to worry about losing or messing up the programming of the remote either since intrigue stores it in their server. i used to have a sony avr-3000 and was a pita...
no, i pulled it out from one of my boxes that i rarely used. i know it was working because i just used that pc a couple of days prior to pulling it out.
i burnt 2 boards (biostar m7ncd and ecs k7s5a) and don't know how?
first was the biostar... installed ram, vid card, and xp1800+. the board was installed inside a case with all the needed standoffs, no extra's. turned it on and the board started smoking around the cpu socket.
second was the...
I do have port 80 in my router forwarded and the only remote application that connects to that server is putty which is forwarded to port 22, and i've always had that on before so that's probably not it. I'm wondering if my isp blocked incoming port 80, would that cause my server what i'm...
I found out I don't have system sounds either, and a re-install didn't help.
mp3 from lan server = play's but no sound
windows system sounds = play's but no sound
stream from internet (vh1 radio) = no problem
files from hd (mp3, wav, etc..) = no problem
Strange...
All of a sudden I can't get any sound when I stream mp3's over lan. The mp3 seems to play fine but without any sound at all, weird! mp3's or any other multimedia file that are in my hd plays fine and has sound. I'm using windows media player 8.
I printed out the OM page that says $30 off $150 purchace and gave it to the manager. I told him the drive is back ordered online and obviously with the $30 coupon it would be a lot cheaper, he was very cooperative and took the coupon. My brother got in on the deal and he also applied the $30...
Wohoo I finally got mine! The manager accepted the $30 online coupon when I told him that the drive was coming-up as back-ordered online. And no need to worry about getting the 2mb version since they are indeed upgraded to the 8mb cache.
Check-out DVD2One, the quality is amazing in backing-up dvd9(dual-layer movies which is the usual) to dvd5(4.7gig blank dvd's). And yes it's possible to make a dvd movie back-up;)
My old laptop just died, anybody knows where I can get it fixed than sending it back to the manufacturer? It's an old dell with 700 p3... I have some schoolwork that I saved in it too :(
I'm not missing the point. But you do have a point regarding movies that won't fit in a single disc and it somehow makes it fit. This I want to know how much quality is being sacrificed though, can you tell the difference? I've always split my dvd's if it didn't fit... double-sided.
It's not that hard to do the same thing with free softwares. You still need to use a ripper since it doesn't do any decrypting, and a burning program. You still need 3 softwares. Just head on to vcdhelp and doom9 and read the guides for a few minutes, you can do the same for free. This is...
Mine came with firmware 1.21, I didn't have to update it. The blank dvd-rw that came with it was fine too, I've already tested burning the stupid triple x movie in it and it played just fine. The only thing that didn't work was the pos nero express, I had to install a full version nero.
woohooo.. i finally got mine at a local staples today.

Anybody seen those mp3 sites where it's nothing but links to a bunch of mp3's to download. It has a little icon on the left, music note or a folder icon, depending on the link. It also has the 'date' and 'last modified' on the right of every link. Anybody knows what program they use to make...
That's alright, I just went ahead and uninstalled IIS. I googled error 426 and apparently a few people are experiencing the same problem with no resolution. I just wanted to see how IIS works anyway, since I never tried using it before.
I'm now running Apache and Bulletproof without any...
Daniel: Thanks for the replies.
I just changed the port but I'm still getting the same error
426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.
I'm about ready to give-up using IIS and just use Bulletproof which I've used before and don't remember it being this hard to setup. Any other ideas?
TIA
I'm behind a 4-port linksys router but I shouldn't have to port forward 21 since the server is on the DMZ. Plus http is working without port forwarding.
I can't access my ftp server on iis (w2k advanced server). It only works on lan it seems. When I use the internal ip or the serverName, it lets me in. But when I use the external ip or the domain name (through dyndns), it won't let me in. It acts the same on both using anonymous or with...
In w2k's windows explorer, when I right-click on a file to get the context menu, properties and sharing menus doesn't work. It's there but when I click them nothing happens :(. Any ideas??
It's working now :) I thought it was hanging when I tried to access w2k's shared folder, It wasn't, it just took forever. The solution was to map the shared folders as a network drive to be able to view the files instantly.
:( Now a new problem arose :( For some reason the right-click menus...
I'm having problem accessing my w2k Advanced Server from my XP boxes. W2k to XP or XP to XP, no problems at all. But XP to W2k, I can see w2k's shared folders but as soon as I try to open one, it'll hang. Both XP's user/pass are setup in the w2k box as admins. I don't know what I'm missing...
